Axiom Path is hiring a Senior Python Backend Engineer to sit within a large financial services organization's enterprise technology division in Jersey City, NJ. Day to day the engineer designs scalable Python backend services and RESTful APIs, integrates SQL/NoSQL databases and third-party services, and supports testing, code reviews, and CI/CD in an agile team.

How You Will Make An Impact:
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Python
- Build and enhance RESTful APIs to support internal and external systems
- Integrate databases, third-party platforms, and enterprise services into applications
- Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code aligned with best practices
- Conduct unit testing, debugging, and performance optimization to ensure reliability
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver solutions
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes
Are you an experienced Python backend engineer ready to make an impact?
- 10+ years of experience in software development with strong Python expertise
- Proven experience building backend systems, APIs, and scalable applications
- Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming
- Experience with RESTful services, database integration (SQL/NoSQL), and version control (Git)
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure), DevOps tools, or CI/CD pipelines is a plus
- Exposure to front-end technologies is beneficial but not required
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and ability to work independently or within agile teams
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across technical and business stakeholders
