Senior Python Developer - Collibra - Pydantic - FastAPI - 12 month contract - Glasgow Hybrid (3 days onsite)
I am looking for an experienced Python Developer with experience of Collibra to deliver robust data structures, metadata models and automation tools for our client in central Glasgow.
What you'll focus on:

  • Turning regulatory, risk and metadata requirements into asset models and governance patterns the organisation can reuse.
  • Developing Python and Pydantic-based components that support data governance, validation, workflows and integrations.
  • Shaping and configuring Collibra models and operating structures to embed data governance at enterprise scale.
  • Using AI-assisted development tools to improve speed and quality while maintaining security, compliance and accuracy.

What we're looking for:

  • Strong Python development background with hands-on experience of Pydantic and FastAPI for data modelling, validation, schema design, serialisation and API development.
  • Practical experience with JSON, YAML, REST APIs and SQL in data-heavy environments.
  • Extensive experience with Collibra or similar metadata management platforms, including asset model and metamodel design, configuration and governance operating models.
  • Background in metadata and logical data modelling, taxonomies, lineage, data quality, business glossaries, catalogues and governance workflow design.
  • Experience in financial services, ideally banking, risk, compliance, regulatory reporting, cyber, fraud or technology risk, with exposure to large financial data sets.
  • Knowledge of data architecture, enterprise information management, regulated data lifecycles and modern engineering practices such as Git, code review, automated testing, documentation and CI/CD concepts.
  • Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor or similar, with the ability to validate and productionise generated outputs responsibly.
  • Strong analytical and stakeholder skills, with high attention to detail, strong ownership and the ability to work effectively in a busy environment.
