Senior python developer
Summary
Senior Python developer (6–7 yrs) in Bangalore who plans and executes migration of backend services and telemetry pipelines from AWS to Azure, builds secure scalable REST APIs, and manages PostgreSQL plus InfluxDB. Core stack: Python (FastAPI/Flask/Django, asyncio), OAuth 2.0/OIDC/SAML with Azure AD B2C and Active Directory.
Position Title: Senior Python Developer
Experience Level: 6–7 Years
Key Responsibilities
- Cloud Migration Execution: Plan, refactor, and execute the migration of existing backend services, microservices, and data pipelines from AWS to Microsoft Azure. This includes mapping AWS-specific resources to their Azure equivalents while optimizing cloud-native performance.
- Backend Systems & Telemetry Processing: Maintain and optimize core backend integrations and configuration settings. You will be responsible for ensuring the high-availability and low-latency processing of high-volume telemetry streams and real-time system status reporting.
- Dual-Database Management: Administer, query, and optimize database schemas across a hybrid environment utilizing PostgreSQL for relational metadata and transactional tracking, and InfluxDB for time-series telemetry data and historical logging.
- Secure API Development: Architect, build, and secure highly scalable, production-grade RESTful APIs to facilitate seamless communication between our backend systems, internal services, and external client integrations.
- Identity & Access Management: Implement, configure, and maintain secure authentication and authorization protocols, specifically integrating Google API / Google Auth for external customer-facing access and Microsoft Active Directory (AD) for enterprise identity management.
Must Have
- 6–7 Years of Enterprise Python Experience: A proven track record of writing clean, maintainable, and highly optimized Python code. Experience with modern, high-performance frameworks (such as FastAPI, Flask, or Django) and asynchronous programming models (asyncio) is highly valued.
- Hands-on Cloud Migration Experience: Demonstrated experience refactoring and moving production workloads, databases, and application states from AWS to Microsoft Azure, with a strong understanding of how to mitigate migration-related risks.
- Advanced Database Expertise: Practical experience managing both relational databases (PostgreSQL, including complex joins, indexing, and query tuning) and time-series databases (InfluxDB, including data retention policies, continuous queries, and high-throughput write optimization).
- Robust RESTful API Design: Deep knowledge of REST API design principles, versioning, serialization, security practices, and integration testing methodologies.
- Enterprise Authentication Protocols: Direct experience integrating identity providers using industry standards (OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SAML) specifically utilizing ADB2C and Microsoft Active Directory (AD).
- Data Integration Pipelines: Experience handling complex system configurations and designing pipelines capable of ingestion, transformation, and storage of telemetry or high-frequency event streams.
Good to Have
- IoT Frameworks & Protocols: Familiarity with connected device architectures, telemetry ingestion patterns, or lightweight messaging protocols such as MQTT, AMQP, or CoAP.
- Azure-Native IoT Services: Exposure to Azure IoT Hub, Azure Event Hubs, or Azure Time Series Insights to streamline telemetry pipelines.
- Modern DevOps & CI/CD Practices: Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and orchestrating deployment pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins.
- Code Quality & Security Auditing: Familiarity with static code analysis tools (such as SonarQube) and secure cloud-native secret management (such as Azure Key Vault or AWS Secrets Manager).
Soft Skills
- Architectural Problem-Solving: Ability to analyze legacy codebases, identify technical debt, and propose elegant, scalable cloud-native solutions.
- Clear & Collaborative Communication: Proven capability to explain complex migration plans, technical trade-offs, and backend architectural decisions to both technical teammates and non-technical stakeholders.
- Adaptability & Initiative: A proactive mindset geared toward continuous learning, with a strong drive to adopt, evaluate, and implement emerging cloud-native technologies.
