Clearance: Active SC Clearance preferred, or candidates with a strong likelihood of obtaining SC clearance due to previously owned or lapsed SC
About the Role
We're looking for experienced Python Developers with a strong data engineering background to join a high-profile UK Gov programme.
You'll be part of a new Integrations Squad, responsible for building operational integrations between downstream digital services and the Electronic Monitoring Data Store. You'll develop APIs, build scalable data pipelines, support existing live services, and act as the key interface between digital product teams and the Electronic Monitoring data platform.
Working alongside Technical Architects, Data Engineers and Product Teams, you'll help deliver secure, resilient and scalable data solutions that underpin critical government services.
- Design and develop robust, scalable data pipelines and APIs connecting operational systems
- Build and optimise ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes for high-performance data integration
- Develop reusable data flows and engineering patterns to improve scalability and maintainability
- Translate stakeholder and user requirements into effective technical solutions
- Deploy cloud-native solutions using AWS services and Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
- Develop and optimise code, tools and services that enable effective use of data
- Design resilient, observable and operationally supported data pipelines
- Support live services and participate in the daily support rota
- Work closely with Technical Architects, Product Managers and Digital Teams to deliver strategic integration capabilities
- Strong commercial experience with Python and SQL
- Experience designing and building scalable data pipelines, APIs and ETL processes
- Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle, including automated testing (pytest), Git version control and CI/CD (GitHub Actions)
- Experience working with a variety of data sources, including data wrangling, transformation and analysis
- Experience deploying solutions within AWS cloud environments
- Experience using Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
- Ability to engage with stakeholders and translate business requirements into technical solutions
- Experience working within Agile multidisciplinary delivery teams
- Active SC Clearance, or confidence in successfully obtaining clearance
- Willingness to travel to offices in London, as required by the team
- Previous Government or Public Sector experience is highly desirable
