Build intuitive, high-performance applications that empower scientists (biologists, chemists, researchers) to unlock insights from complex datasets.
Platform / ML Software Engineers
Design and scale backend systems that support ML workflows—helping data scientists and ML engineers train, deploy, and optimise models in production environments.
You don’t need everything—but experience across some of the below is key:
- Python (FastAPI, modern tooling like UV / Pixi)
- APIs: REST / GraphQL
- Frontend: HTML / HTMX
- Cloud: AWS (S3, ECS)
- Infrastructure: Terraform
- Workflow orchestration (e.g. Prefect)
- Exposure to AI tools (e.g. Claude Code)
- 6–10 years’ software engineering experience
- Degree (or higher) in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology/Chemistry, Physics, or similar
