Senior Python Test Automation Engineer

We are seeking a Senior Python Test Automation Engineer who combines solid software engineering fundamentals with modern AI-assisted engineering practices to drive product quality. In this role, you will take ownership of test automation subsystems, implement robust test architectures using Python tooling (pytest, Robot Framework, Playwright, Selenium, requests), configure and manage cloud-based testing infrastructure, and integrate GenAI agents into your daily workflows. You will operate independently, collaborate directly with cross-functional project teams, and champion high automation, database validation, and performance standards.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain scalable test automation frameworks for Web UI and Web Services/APIs leveraging Python-based tools (pytest, Robot Framework, Playwright, Selenium, requests)
• Create, run, and sustain automated API tests and full integration test suites spanning distributed systems and microservices
• Build, run, and evaluate non-functional and performance test suites (via Locust, k6, or JMeter) to pinpoint system bottlenecks, throughput limits, and latency problems
• Run and oversee automated test execution across cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure), making use of containerization (Docker) and cloud-native testing services
• Use AI coding agents and LLM assistants to speed up writing test scripts, building keyword libraries, generating fixtures, creating mock data, and triaging defects
• Review, refactor, and validate test code (both human-written and AI-generated) to guarantee maintainability, reliability, and clean code compliance
• Embed automated functional, regression, API, and performance test suites into CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins) running on Linux
• Handle source code and branching through Git, and log test runs, defects, and coverage using test management platforms (Jira, TestRail, Zephyr)
• Own quality end-to-end for assigned subsystems, spotting regression risks and performing thorough root cause investigations
• Produce and maintain thorough test documentation, covering automation plans, solution designs, performance benchmarks, test scenarios, and execution reports
• Share personal and team quality outcomes with technical stakeholders and client representatives
• Guide junior engineers in Python automation best practices, keyword-driven testing, and efficient AI-assisted workflows

Requirements

• 3+ years in software testing, test automation, or Python development (Level 3 equivalent)
• Strong command of Python, OOP concepts, data structures, and the wider Python testing ecosystem (pytest, fixtures, decorators, typing, or Robot Framework syntax and custom libraries)
• Demonstrated skill in Web UI automation (Playwright, Selenium) plus direct experience in API and integration testing (requests, HTTPX, REST/GraphQL, contract testing)
• Strong SQL skills and experience validating relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Amazon RDS), including complex joins, data seeding, and automated state checks
• Direct experience testing against and integrating with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, GCP, or Azure), including compute, serverless runners, storage, and containerization (Docker)
• Practical background designing and running performance, load, and stress tests (e.g., Locust, k6, JMeter) and reading key metrics (p95 latency, throughput, error rates)
• Skilled with version control (Git) and test management platforms (Jira, TestRail, Zephyr)
• Direct experience using AI coding assistants (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot) to speed up test creation and overcome automation challenges
• Solid familiarity with Linux systems and CI/CD pipeline setup (Docker, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins)
• Deep understanding of test design methods, SDLC approaches, code review practices, and test estimation
• Independent problem-solver with excellent verbal and written communication, confident presenting to clients and cross-functional teams

Nice to have

• Background testing NoSQL databases and document stores (MongoDB, Amazon DocumentDB, DynamoDB)
• Familiarity with agentic AI development platforms and model APIs (AWS Bedrock, Azure OpenAI Service, Vertex AI, LangChain/LangGraph) for automating workflows or building smart test assistants
• Experience testing AI/LLM applications, RAG pipelines, or applying LLM evaluation frameworks (DeepEval, Ragas)
• Industry certifications (ISTQB Advanced, AWS Certified Solutions Architect/Developer, GCP Associate Cloud Engineer, or Azure Fundamentals/DevOps)
