About Liquidnitro Games

Liquidnitro Games is a game development company built to create, launch, and scale ambitious games for a global audience.

Founded by industry veterans with deep experience across free-to-play, live services, and large-scale game production agnostic of platforms, we bring together product thinking, design craft, engineering depth, art execution, data, and live operations under one roof.

We build games from the ground up, take new ideas from 0 to 1, and work with select partners to strengthen, scale, and operate high-quality game experiences.

Our teams combine creative ownership with production discipline, helping projects move from early prototypes to validated products, and from launch to long-term growth.

At Liquidnitro, we are building the next generation of game teams, products, and tools from India for the global games industry.

Role Overview

The Senior Quality Analyst owns the quality of features and builds across game projects, spanning both new game development and live services, with a strong focus on mobile games. Beyond hands-on testing, this role defines test approaches for complex features, drives risk-based coverage, and gives the team a clear, reliable view of build quality ahead of every release.

You will work closely with the QA Lead, Production, Design, Engineering, and external partners, and act as a go-to point of contact for quality on your projects. You will mentor Quality Analysts, help raise the standard of testing across the team, and play a key role in shaping how QA operates at Liquidnitro.

Key Responsibilities

Test Strategy & Planning

• Analyse game design documents, feature specifications, and technical requirements early in development, raising gaps, ambiguities, and risks before implementation.

• Define test plans and test approaches for features, systems, and releases, including scope, coverage, priorities, and effort estimates.

• Apply risk-based testing to focus effort on the areas with the highest player and business impact.

• Plan device and OS coverage across iOS and Android, balancing market reach, performance tiers, and release timelines.

Test Design & Execution

• Design, review, and maintain high-quality test cases, checklists, and regression suites covering features, systems, UI/UX, and player journeys.

• Lead functional, regression, exploratory, compatibility, and integration testing on complex game features and systems.

• Validate game economy, progression, monetization flows (in-app purchases, ads, rewards), live events, and server-driven configuration and data.

• Test client–server behaviour, including network interruptions, offline and reconnect scenarios, data sync, and backend-driven content.

• Perform and support performance testing, including frame rate, memory, battery, load times, and app size, across low-end and high-end devices.

Defect Management & Quality Reporting

• Identify, isolate, and log complex defects with precise reproduction steps, root-cause hints, and supporting evidence such as logs, crash reports, screenshots, and videos.

• Drive bug triage with Production and Engineering, recommending severity and priority based on player impact and release risk.

• Track and report quality metrics such as defect trends, test coverage, escape rates, and build stability.

• Provide clear go / no-go quality assessments and risk summaries for release candidates.

Release & Live Operations

• Own release candidate, submission, and hotfix validation for game launches, feature releases, and live updates.

• Ensure builds meet App Store and Google Play guidelines and certification requirements prior to submission.

• Validate live events, store and offer configurations, and A/B test setups before they go live to players.

• Lead post-release validation and the investigation of live and player-reported issues, working with Support and Engineering to reproduce and resolve them.

Mentoring & Collaboration

• Mentor and guide Quality Analysts, reviewing their test cases and defect reports and helping them grow their testing skills.

• Support the QA Lead in work allocation, estimation, and day-to-day coordination of testing activities.

• Act as the QA point of contact in sprint, build review, and release meetings, sharing quality insights from a player’s perspective.

• Coordinate testing activities with external development and QA partners, including onboarding and knowledge transfer on co-development and title transition projects.

Continuous Improvement

• Identify gaps in QA processes, documentation, and tooling, and drive practical improvements across the team.

• Make use of AI tools and automation to improve testing efficiency and coverage, and identify suitable candidates for automation.

• Build and maintain in-depth knowledge of game features and systems, and keep test documentation and knowledge bases up to date.

Required Skills & Experience

• 5–7 years of experience in Quality Assurance within game development, with a significant portion on mobile games.

• Proven hands-on experience testing mobile games on both iOS and Android platforms, across a wide range of devices and OS versions.

• Experience creating test plans and test strategies and estimating QA effort for features and releases.

• Strong understanding of testing types and methodologies, including functional, regression, exploratory, compatibility, integration, and performance testing.

• Experience testing live service games, including live events, monetization, game economy, and backend-driven content.

• Proficiency with bug tracking and test management tools such as JIRA, TestRail, or similar.

• Strong working knowledge of debugging and investigation tools such as ADB, Logcat, Xcode, and network proxy tools (Charles, Fiddler, or similar).

• Experience mentoring or guiding junior QA team members.

• Experience working in Agile development and live service environments with frequent release cycles.

• Strong attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills, and a genuine passion for games.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present quality status and risks clearly to internal teams and external partners.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and make sound quality decisions under release timelines.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience shipping and supporting free-to-play mobile games with monetization, live operations, and in-game events.

• In-depth knowledge of App Store and Google Play submission, certification, and policy requirements.

• Hands-on experience with test automation, API testing (e.g. Postman), and performance profiling tools (e.g. Unity Profiler, Android Studio Profiler, Xcode Instruments).

• Experience testing builds made with Unity or Unreal Engine.

• Experience validating analytics events, A/B tests, and remote configuration.

• Experience working with external partners on co-development or title transition projects.

• ISTQB or an equivalent QA certification is a plus.
