Senior QA Engineer

Salary: Up to $160K + Super + Annual Bonus

Cadence Connect is proud to be partnered with a growing Brisbane-based organisation that is investing in its technology team. With a strong focus on reliable, well-built software, they’re now looking for an experienced Senior QA Engineer to establish a dedicated quality function from scratch.

About the role
Reporting to the Solutions Architect, you’ll take ownership of QA from day one. You’ll shape the overall approach, introduce practical processes, and build automation that can scale as the business grows.

Working alongside developers, product managers and stakeholders, you’ll be the go-to person for quality across every release.

What you’ll be doing

• Setting a QA strategy that fits how the product and business operate
• Writing test plans and test cases for new and existing functionality
• Creating and documenting QA standards and ways of working
• Building and maintaining automated test suites, with manual testing where it adds value
• Logging and tracking defects, and working with developers to resolve them quickly
• Recommending improvements to tools, workflows and testing approaches
• Coaching others on QA practice as the team expands

What you’ll bring

• 5+ years across manual and automated testing, including regression and release testing in an agile team
• Experience as a QA Analyst or QA Engineer, ideally having established QA where none existed before
• Solid automation experience with Playwright, or a comparable tool
• Confidence writing and reviewing test code in JavaScript or TypeScript
• The ability to work autonomously and take ownership of outcomes
• Clear communication skills, including explaining technical issues to non-technical people
• A collaborative approach, with the confidence to push back when quality is at risk

***This is a Hybrid role, in the office for 3 days per week (Brisbane CBD) and 2 days per week from home!
