Description

The role

We are looking for a Senior QA Engineer to test our casual games, playable ads and in-game monetisation features. You will work with product and development teams to check new builds, investigate bugs and keep releases on track.

This is a hands-on role covering gameplay, APIs and backend data, as well as advertising integrations and in-app purchases.

Responsibilities

· Write and maintain test cases for mobile and web games, covering gameplay rules, user flows, configuration changes and edge cases.

· Test playable ads across the required devices and environments. Check loading, touch interactions, gameplay and links to the app-download destination.

· Test in-game ad integrations, including loading failures, closing behaviour and gameplay resumption. Check reward delivery where rewarded ads are used.

· Validate in-app purchases from payment through to item delivery. Check failed or repeated requests, interrupted transactions and inconsistent purchase states.

· Use API tests and SQL queries to check backend behaviour and trace discrepancies between the game client and server records.

· Run functional, integration, regression, compatibility and performance tests. Raise issues early and explain their impact on players or transactions.

· Build and maintain reusable API tests and automated regression checks. Use scheduled runs and reports to support regular releases.

· Write clear bug reports with steps to reproduce, expected and actual results, and supporting logs or screenshots. Verify fixes and check for regressions.

· Plan testing for assigned releases, coordinate dependencies with developers and report outstanding defects and release risks.

· Improve test checklists, documentation and working practices across projects.

Requirements

· Relevant qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

· Experience in Chinese and/ or European causal game and monetization market is a plus.

· At least five years of software QA experience, including responsibility for testing assigned projects or releases.

· Hands-on experience with casual games, playable ads, advertising integrations and in-app purchase fulfilment.

· Experience testing mobile or web applications, APIs and backend data. Able to investigate issues beyond the user interface.

· Working knowledge of Postman, Apifox or JMeter, and SQL for data checks and troubleshooting.

· Experience with automated testing workflows and reports. Familiarity with Jenkins and basic Linux commands.

· Able to turn requirements into practical test cases, identify edge cases and prioritise defects.

· Clear written communication and the ability to work with product managers, developers and other testers.

Nice to have

· Experience with commerce or transaction platforms, including promotions, payments, refunds, reconciliation or third-party integrations.

· Experience coordinating test tasks, improving release checks or sharing testing practices with colleagues.
