The Senior QA Engineer will lead testing strategy and automation for web and mobile applications within the Core Experience Markets team. The role focuses on enhancing customer onboarding and responsible gaming features using Playwright, Appium, and TypeScript in an Agile environment.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
Are you an experienced QA Engineer looking to make an impact in a fast-paced, dynamic environment? Join our Core Experience Markets Team at LeoVegas Group, where you will play a crucial role in enhancing our global customer onboarding process and developing responsible gaming features. Your work will ensure a seamless, secure, and enjoyable experience for our customers across all our brands.
In this position, you will directly contribute to strengthening the Netherlands sites and apps by working very closely with key stakeholders in order to define the most effective and clear testing scopes aligned with our business needs. Our mission is to create a safe gaming environment where players can set healthy limits on their gambling habits. We leverage data-driven insights and a robust CI/CD process, following the Agile (Scrum/Kanban) methodology to deliver high-quality solutions. You will collaborate alongside expert developers from four different expertises: Backend, Frontend, and Native apps, Regulatory reporting; along with dedicated Quality Assurance Engineers to deliver high-quality solutions that support a reliable and user oriented product.
YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:
Driving high-impact outcomes by leading complex, ambitious projects and resolving critical issues that directly influence business quality and performance
Elevating engineering quality across the company through mentoring, sponsorship and delivering constructive technical feedback
Shaping testing strategy and architecture by leading test design for complex problems, ensuring reliability, observability and alignment with business priorities
Communicating risks, insights and technical considerations clearly to both technical and non technical stakeholders, contributing meaningfully to roadmaps and planning
Uplifting QA practices across squads by promoting best practices, anticipating issues through strong processes and enabling others to improve testing for performance, scale and security
OUR SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE THE FOLLOWING:
Essential Skills:
Deep knowledge of testing theory, design techniques, methodologies, and the testing pyramid
Hands-on web E2E test automation experience with Playwright (or similar tools) using TypeScript or JavaScript
Hands-on native mobile E2E test automation experience with Appium and WebdriverIO (or similar tools) using TypeScript or JavaScript
Proven ability to design and execute full-stack test plans and robust manual testing for web and native mobile applications
Solid grounding in Agile (Scrum/Kanban) and DevOps methodologies within self-organizing teams
Nice to Have:
ISTQB certification (Foundation Level or higher)
Hands-on experience with test management tools like TestRail
Practical experience maintaining and optimizing automated testing within CI/CD pipelines
Familiarity with microservice architectures (Java/Kotlin, Kafka, MySQL, REST APIs, BigQuery)
Experience building automated API tests and working with mock data or virtualization tools
Prior experience in the iGaming industry
Leadership experience in driving test strategies, setting best practices, and steering QA projects would be a strong advantage
