Senior QA Engineer

Summary

The Senior QA Engineer leads and manages quality assurance activities for engineering and MRO projects, overseeing inspections, non-conformance investigations, and compliance with quality standards. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams and mentoring staff to ensure project requirements and customer specifications are met.

Job Description:

  • Lead and manage QA activities for assigned projects from project initiation to delivery.
  • Act as the primary QA representative and customer interface for quality-related matters.
  • Independently manage project quality requirements and serve as the QA Management Representative for assigned projects.
  • Oversee incoming, in-process, and outgoing quality assurance activities, including inspections and acceptance processes.
  • Lead incoming quality inspections and verification of purchased parts, materials, and subcontracted products to ensure compliance with engineering specifications, quality standards, and customer requirements.
  • Review and maintain quality documentations such as Acceptance Test Plan, Acceptance Test Record, inspection records, and quality plans.
  • Drive investigation and closure of non-conformances, customer complaints, Defect Rectification Note, Supplier Non-Conformance Action and corrective actions.
  • Conduct audits and ensure compliance with contractual, regulatory, and Quality Management System requirements.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Procurement, and Project teams to resolve quality issues.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to QA Engineers and Inspectors.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality, productivity, and customer satisfaction.
  • Perform any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Reporting Officer, Quality Manager, or Management.

Job Requirements:

  • Degree in any Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5-8 years of relevant QA/QC experience in manufacturing, engineering, MRO (Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul), defence, or related industries.
  • Strong experience in quality assurance, inspection processes, supplier quality management, non-conformance management, and continuous quality improvement.
  • Proven ability to independently manage project QA activities and customer engagements.
  • Good knowledge of Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001), audits, inspections, and quality assurance practices.
  • Experience in handling non-conformances, root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Working knowledge of SAP, including material transactions, inspection lots, quality notifications, and reporting will be added advantage.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.
  • Self-motivated, analytical, customer-focused, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Possession of a valid Class 3 / 3A driving licence will be an added advantage.
