Senior QA Engineer
Summary
Senior QA Engineer designs and executes automated and manual tests for backend APIs and services in a digital marketing SaaS environment, using Java, REST Assured, and CI/CD pipelines.
Svitla Systems Inc. is looking for a Senior QA Engineer for a full-time position (40 hours per week) in Europe. Our client is a digital marketing company that offers email marketing, social media marketing, event marketing, and online survey tools to help organizations expand their businesses by fostering stronger customer relationships.
You will work with innovative tools and APIs that allow internal teams to operate smoothly and seamlessly, such as finance, sales, marketing, and customer support. In addition to these stakeholders, you will work with other engineering teams, product owners, and UX designers to improve productivity across many applications. This is a backend testing-heavy position. A small subset of legacy billing services is moving to Stripe. The team needs someone with solid API testing experience (manual and automation). Manual testing is conducted using Postman, and for automation, the following technical skill set is required: REST Assured, core Java, JUnit 5 (TestNG is fine too since they are pretty similar), knowledge of IntelliJ, and Jenkins.
The team needs someone with extensive Java experience to help build and set up a new REST Assured-based automation framework.
Automation: 80%, manual: 20% (80% automation because most testing is done directly via automation). This means the candidate needs excellent functional testing skills to develop use cases that will then be tested directly via automation.
Overlap/Meetings until 7 PM CET
Requirements:
Experience with the REST Assured framework.
BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or applicable discipline.
7+ years of experience in test automation and familiarity with development roles.
Strong knowledge of Java and Selenium/Protractor/Cypress.
Understanding of debugging test code.
Knowledge of Postman.
Expertise in unit testing and test-driven development.
Be comfortable with relational and NoSQL databases.
Understanding of AWS (any experience with this cloud).
Exposure to Git in a CI/CD environment.
Experience with QE methodologies.
Experience working in Agile/Scrum.
