Senior QA Mobile Automation Testing

Role & responsibilities

About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced Mobile QA Automation Engineer to own quality assurance for customer-facing streaming applications across iOS and Android. The role focuses on automation-first testing, CI/CD integration, and collaboration with Engineering and Product teams to ensure reliable, high-quality releases.

Key Responsibilities:

End-to-End Quality Assurance: Own mobile app testing from test strategy and execution to release sign-off across iOS and Android.

Test Automation: Build, maintain, and scale automation frameworks using Maestro, Appium, XCTest, Espresso, or similar tools.

Cross-Platform Testing: Adapt to different automation frameworks, programming languages, and platforms, including mobile, TV, and web.

Streaming Application Testing: Validate live and video-on-demand (VOD) playback, Adaptive Bitrate Streaming (ABR), Digital Rights Management (DRM), advertisements, subscriptions, in-app purchases, and casting.

Comprehensive Testing: Perform functional, regression, API, performance, accessibility, and exploratory testing.

CI/CD Integration: Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines and promote shift-left testing practices.

Quality Governance: Define acceptance criteria and quality gates with Product, Engineering, and DevOps teams.

Quality Metrics: Track automation coverage, release readiness, and production defect trends.

Production Support: Support production validation, incident investigation, and root cause analysis (RCA).

Required Skills & Experience

5+ years of experience in mobile testing, including at least 3 years in mobile test automation.

Hands-on experience with Maestro or Appium, with Maestro preferred.

Proven ability to adapt to different automation tools, frameworks, programming languages, and platforms.

Strong coding skills in Java, Kotlin, Swift, Python, or JavaScript.

Experience with API testing tools such as Postman, Rest Assured, or similar.

Hands-on experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI.

Strong understanding of test strategy, test design, defect lifecycle, and quality assurance practices.

Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments with strong communication and collaboration skills.

Good-to-Have Skills

Experience with OTT, streaming, media, or subscription-based applications.

Familiarity with device cloud platforms such as BrowserStack, Sauce Labs, or AWS Device Farm.

Experience in performance testing and mobile performance profiling.

Knowledge of observability and production monitoring tools.

Exposure to AI-assisted testing, self-healing automation, or intelligent test selection.

ISTQB or equivalent testing certification.
