Senior QA Tester (7 Month Contract)
We are seeking a proactive and technically skilled Senior QA Tester to lead testing strategy, planning, and execution across complex projects within our agile delivery teams. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, takes ownership of quality outcomes, and actively removes roadblocks through collaboration and initiative.
You will operate with a high degree of autonomy, lead by example, identify quality risks early, ask effective questions, and work across teams to keep testing and delivery moving forward. Your strong communication skills, attention to detail, and technical expertise will be essential in ensuring the reliability and performance of our systems.
Individuals applying for this position must be able to multi-task, have a strong attention to detail, professional demeanor, and be able to adapt into a growing and changing environment.
Position: Senior QA Tester
Duration: 7 Month Contract
Location: Gurugram
What You Will Do
- Lead risk-based test strategy, planning, and execution for new and existing systems, prioritizing coverage based on business impact, complexity, and delivery risk.
- Collaborate with developers, product owners, and business analysts to clarify requirements, remove impediments, and maintain traceability across requirements, test cases, defects, and test evidence.
- Design, implement, maintain, and execute manual and automated tests for APIs, web applications, and backend systems, coordinating the test data, environments, and dependencies required for effective execution.
- Coordinate UAT planning, including readiness assessments, test-scenario preparation, business-tester support, issue triage, progress reporting, and sign-off documentation.
- Own defect management, including clear documentation, triage, root-cause analysis, fix verification, retesting, and closure.
- Assess and communicate test progress, coverage, defect trends, unresolved issues, and risk. Provide release-readiness recommendations.
- Embed quality throughout the agile delivery lifecycle by contributing to planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives, while strengthening QA practices and driving continuous improvement across the team.
What You Bring
- 5+ years of software quality assurance experience, including at least 2 years in a senior or lead role within a fast-paced agile environment.
- Strong experience designing and documenting functional, integration, regression, end-to-end, and non-functional test cases, with practical experience planning and executing performance and load tests.
- Strong test automation experience using frameworks and tools such as Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright, combined with proficiency in RESTful API testing and SQL for data validation, test data management, and backend testing.
- Experience leading UAT and coordinating testing activities, risks, and outcomes with business and technical stakeholders.
- Solid understanding of cloud-based systems, preferably Microsoft Azure, and experience with delivery and test management platforms such as Jira or Azure DevOps.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to ask effective questions, communicate quality risks, work independently, and manage competing priorities with strong attention to detail.
