Senior Quantitative Developer
Summary
Senior quantitative developer on a fintech team that builds and operates financial risk-scoring systems: implement production scoring calculations from documented methodologies, build validation harnesses wired into CI, and grow reusable analytics libraries. Core stack is Python/Django; 5+ years of production experience and financial risk-model knowledge required. Remote, based in India.
About the Role
Join a fintech team building and operating financial risk-scoring systems. You will translate defined methodologies into reliable production software, build validation tools, and help ensure scoring remains accurate as the product and data grow.
What You'll Do
Implement and maintain production risk-scoring calculations from documented methodologies, raising questions when requirements are ambiguous.
Make scoring runs repeatable and safe to replay, and improve performance as portfolio and security volumes increase.
Contribute to modular, well-organized calculation and analytics libraries that other product teams can build on.
Build a deterministic reference-set validation harness, integrate it into CI, and report coverage and model drift.
Work within established production engineering practices, including testing, code review, and CI.
Help broaden analytical capabilities beyond risk scoring as product needs evolve.
What We're Looking For
At least 5 years of experience building and maintaining deployed production software, including work in an existing codebase with tests, code review, and CI.
Experience building large-scale systems and working with high-volume data.
Hands-on experience implementing financial risk models, including volatility, correlation, concentration, or tail measures, or experience with options, structured products, and derivatives.
Strong quantitative or technical foundations in computer science, mathematics, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Knowledge of financial instruments and classification, scoring methodologies, and proxies for instruments with limited history.
Experience with Python and Django in production, web scrapers and data adapters, and automated solutions such as trading systems or strategies.
Familiarity with reference-data validation, live financial-data migrations and backfills, and US financial markets; tax-optimization experience is also relevant.
Compensation & Benefits
Compensation is $4,000 to $8,000 USD. Visa sponsorship is not available.
Location
Remote. Primary location: India.
