SENIOR QUANTITATIVE RESEARCHER (F/M/D)
Summary
Designs and implements algorithmic trading strategies for electricity markets using Python, SQL, and statistical/machine learning models to optimize renewable energy asset performance.
We are looking for a new colleague to join our Algorithmic Trading and Research team, responsible for trading electricity across the intraday, day-ahead, and ancillary services markets. You will work alongside experienced traders, quantitative researchers, and engineers, leveraging our extensive in-house technology stack to develop new trading strategies, improve existing algorithms, and help shape the future of data-driven energy trading.
We manage the largest portfolio of photovoltaic (PV) assets in the region, complemented by wind farms, battery energy storage systems, and the region's largest electricity consumption portfolio. Our asset base spans residential, commercial, and utility-scale customers, all actively traded in wholesale electricity and ancillary services markets. If that speaks to you, we’d be happy to welcome you to our team!
Take YOUR part in #EnergySmart!
You will contribute to green and secure energy ecosystem creation by:
- Designing, implementing, and continuously improving algorithmic trading strategies, including rigorous backtesting, performance evaluation, and ensuring compliance with applicable market rules and regulations;
- Developing and enhancing statistical and machine learning models for forecasting renewable generation, electricity consumption, wholesale market prices, and imbalance prices;
- Building algorithms for asset-backed trading that maximize the value of flexible energy assets across residential, commercial, and utility-scale portfolios;
- Developing optimization models and decision-making routines for battery energy storage systems and other flexible assets operating across multiple electricity markets;
- Supporting trading operations by monitoring and supervising automated trading systems, analysing their performance, and adapting trading logic to evolving market conditions;
- Identifying new market opportunities, evaluating innovative trading concepts, and contributing to the continuous evolution of our quantitative trading platform.
- University degree (Data Science, Statistics, Computer science, Mathematics, Physics, Econometrics or a closely related field);
- Practical experience with Python, SQL, Git;
- Practical experience with at least one of the following: statistical modelling, numerical modelling, linear optimization, training of neural networks for regression tasks;
- Ability to adapt to rapidly changing conditions and priorities.
Would be an advantage:
- Experience with intraday power markets, balancing markets, or ancillary services.
- Compensation corresponding to experience and competencies, and financial incentives dependent on achieved results;
- A package of additional benefits to choose from: pension accumulation, health insurance, or another benefit from the selectable benefits list in the MELP application;
- Additional paid days for health improvement, short-term illness, volunteering, and accumulated work experience;
- A hybrid work model (3+2) and flexible working hours;
- An onboarding program tailored for new hires, including tours and buddy support;
- Team and Group events, other activities;
- Take part in an unfolding energy transformation process to create a 100% green and secure energy ecosystem for both current and future generations.
Join a growing and increasingly international team of energy smart people united by a common purpose. We all play our part in creating a 100 % secure and green energy ecosystem for current and future generations.
And the way to achieve this is certainly not to wait for the perfect moment. We believe that the power to act comes from the charge we bring to our work every day. United by purpose. Owning the challenge. Passion for reinvention. Pursuing excellence. These are our mindsets. Together, they yield the energy that drives everything we do. The energy generated by our choices. If you are guided by the same mindsets – we look forward to welcoming you to our team!
