Senior Quantity Surveyor

Position Summary

This role focuses on the technical quantification of claims and providing hands-on support to project-based QS staff. The person transforms site data into robust financial submissions, ensuring the company’s legal entitlements are protected.

Key Responsibilities

Tactical Claim Management

  • Submission Preparation: Lead the preparation and submission of monthly progress claims and detailed cost variations with technical accuracy.

  • Evidence Collection: Coordinate with site teams to gather photographic evidence and site logs to support EOT (Extension of Time) and Loss & Expense claims.

  • Mentor Project QS: Provide technical guidance and support to project-based QS staff on measurement standards and claim procedures.

Cost Monitoring & Reporting

  • Variance Reporting: Support the manager in monitoring project budgets and identifying cost variances early to provide feedback to project teams.

  • Financial Updates: Assist in preparing commercial reports and financial updates for senior management presentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.

  • 5–10 years of experience, preferably on large-scale infrastructure or complex building projects.

  • Contract Knowledge: Strong knowledge of standard forms of contracts commonly used in Singapore (PSSCOC, SIA).

  • Soft Skills: Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skills; strong analytical ability with high attention to detail.

  • Systems: Familiarity with ERP/Project Management systems (e.g., ACC) and Microsoft Office Suite.
