Senior Rail Corridor Planning Officer
Reporting to the Manager, the Senior Access Planning Analyst is responsible for developing and tracking Key Performance Indictors (KPI) against negative trend reporting. Reporting resources to drive a data driven culture and deliver quality analysis, interpretation of findings and clear articulation of results and insights into the performance of Rail Corridor Access & Control Team. Identify, analyze and interpret data trends/issues and make recommendations for improvement to business, operations and system processes.
Establish and implement a strategic plan for the collection, management and reporting of all RCAC performance data.
Responsible for the development and improvement of management reports, including KPIs, performance management business meetings, risks and issues and financial reports.
Responsible for the collection, maintenance, and validation of all RCAC project performance data through a systems approach.
Collaborates with other outreach/stakeholder relations functions across Metrolinx to ensure alignment of activities and other ongoing initiatives
Liaises with internal departments regarding operational issues or improvements, and provides subject matter expertise to management team on as required
- Creates a culture of continuous improvement to ensure high quality service standards and timely delivery are achieved. Ensures projects and initiatives are delivered on time and within budget
- Recommends process, standards, or policy changes for continuous improvement and to advance excellence in corporate project management practices
- Meets service delivery objectives and manages project and department activities within budgetary limits
- Monitors progress to ensure that planning objectives are delivered on time and within budget, and that
anticipated business results are achieved; able to explain off-plan overages and exceptions
- Provides subject matter expertise to internal stakeholders and business units to provide technical advice, assist with data interpretation, needs analysis and provide insight and commentary for decision making purposes.
- Other duties as assigned.
- University degree in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management, Statistics, or a related discipline, or a combination of education, training and experience deemed equivalent.
- Minimum four (4) years’ experience in a Data Analyst or similar role, with a background in technology, information management, relational database design and development, business intelligence, data mining or statistics.
Analytical and problem-solving skills to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with strict attention to detail and accuracy.
Critical-thinking skills to identify trends in data and provide insight into results and outline recommendations.
Interpersonal and relationship management skills to liaise with stakeholders and business units to identify/manage data/information requirements.
Verbal and written communication skills to prepare reports, update, and brief management; provide information and explanations of a technical nature to a range of internal stakeholders
Ability to learn new software and tools in an efficient manner
