The Opportunity

AWI is looking for an experienced and collaborative Senior Recruiter to play a lead role in shaping our talent pipeline and helping us attract exceptional people across our organization.

In this role, you’ll manage the full recruitment lifecycle for some of AWI’s most complex and highest-priority searches, supporting positions ranging from Property Managers and Maintenance Technicians to corporate and leadership roles.

You’ll also work closely with our Recruiter and other recruiting team members, providing day-to-day guidance, coordinating priorities, and modeling recruiting best practices. This is an individual contributor role with the opportunity to serve as a trusted resource and mentor to the recruiting team without formal supervisory responsibilities.

If you’re an experienced recruiter who enjoys tackling challenging searches, building strong partnerships, improving recruiting processes, and connecting talented people with meaningful work, we’d love to hear from you.

What You’ll Do

Lead Recruitment Strategy
Partner with HR leadership to help shape and refine AWI’s recruiting strategy across corporate and on-site positions, ensuring our approach supports company culture, growth plans, and organizational objectives.

Manage Complex & High-Priority Searches
Take ownership of corporate, leadership, and hard-to-fill requisitions, using advanced sourcing strategies, sound judgment, and creativity to identify and engage qualified candidates.

Manage the Full Recruitment Lifecycle
Lead searches from initial sourcing through hire, including resume screening, candidate interviews, reference checks, hiring recommendations, and offer management.

Guide & Support the Recruiting Team
Serve as a go-to resource for the Recruiter and other recruiting team members by providing day-to-day guidance, coaching, best practices, and coordination around workload and priorities.

Build Strong Talent Pipelines
Develop and execute sourcing strategies designed to attract diverse pools of qualified candidates for property management, maintenance, corporate, and leadership positions.

Lead Recruitment Outreach
Organize and participate in career fairs, community outreach initiatives, and college recruiting efforts to strengthen AWI’s ongoing talent pipeline.

Manage Offers & Candidate Experience
Lead the offer process for complex and senior-level hires, including salary negotiations and benefits discussions, while creating a positive experience for candidates and hiring managers.

Build Trusted Partnerships
Develop strong working relationships with Regional Managers, HR leadership, hiring managers, and external partners to understand staffing needs and deliver effective recruiting solutions.

Track Recruitment Data & Results
Oversee candidate activity and reporting within the ATS, identify trends across open requisitions, and provide HR leadership with regular updates on recruiting progress.

Improve Recruiting Processes
Identify opportunities to strengthen recruiting workflows, tools, and SOPs and help implement improvements that increase efficiency and consistency across the team.

Support Compliance & Best Practices
Help ensure recruiting practices comply with applicable employment laws and industry standards while reinforcing consistent best practices across the recruiting team.

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Social Sciences, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 5–7 years of recruiting experience, including experience recruiting for corporate and/or leadership-level positions as well as site-level roles.
  • Experience in affordable housing, property management, or a related industry is preferred.
  • Experience working with applicant tracking systems such as UKG or similar platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to guide, coach, and coordinate other recruiting professionals in an informal, non-supervisory capacity.
  • Strong knowledge of sourcing, interviewing, hiring practices, and recruiting compliance.
  • Ability to build strong, trusted relationships with hiring managers and external partners.
  • Experience advising on and negotiating offers, including complex and senior-level hires.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple searches and competing priorities.
  • Ability to understand business objectives and align recruiting efforts with organizational goals.
