Summary
A hands-on senior engineer who designs, builds, installs, commissions and maintains industrial solar-powered refrigeration systems (20/40-foot ColdBox containers) for a food company. Day to day: cooling-load and energy calculations, equipment sizing, hybrid solar/generator/grid power design, drawings and cost estimates, plus supervising fabrication and maintenance.

About the Role
Aldelano Organic Foods Ltd is seeking an experienced, hands-on engineer to design, build, install, commission and maintain industrial solar-powered refrigeration systems, particularly 40-foot ColdBox units.
The successful candidate must be capable of designing complete refrigeration and hybrid power systems, including calculating cooling capacity, energy requirements and construction costs.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and build industrial refrigeration systems for 20-foot and 40-foot ColdBox containers.
- Calculate cooling loads, refrigeration capacity and system efficiency.
- Select and size compressors, condensers, evaporators, valves, piping and insulation.
- Design electrical distribution systems, control panels and protective circuits.
- Integrate refrigeration systems with solar panels, batteries, inverters, generators and grid power.
- Calculate solar, inverter, battery and generator requirements.
- Troubleshoot and maintain electrical, refrigeration and control systems.
- Prepare engineering drawings, technical specifications, bills of materials and cost estimates.
- Supervise fabrication, installation, testing and commissioning.
- Develop preventive maintenance schedules and technical documentation.
Requirements
- BSc/HND in Mechanical, Electrical/Electronic, Mechatronics, Refrigeration Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years' practical experience in industrial refrigeration, electrical engineering or integrated energy systems.
- Proven ability to design, build and troubleshoot industrial refrigeration or cold-storage systems.
- Strong knowledge of solar PV, hybrid inverters, battery systems, generators and electrical distribution.
- Excellent understanding of cooling-load calculations, energy consumption and equipment sizing.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, PVsyst or equivalent engineering software.
- Ability to prepare technical drawings, project budgets and cost estimates.
- Experience with industrial automation, PLCs and energy management systems is an advantage.
- COREN registration or relevant professional certification is an added advantage.
