Senior Regulatory Counsel

You will provide strategic regulatory advice, identify regulatory obligations and integrity risks, develop policies and procedures, represent regulatory interests across workstreams, coordinate global stakeholders, and manage regulator interactions, external counsel, and high-stakes negotiations.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic regulatory advice to internal and external stakeholders and senior management
• Identify regulatory obligations and integrity risks
• Develop policies and procedures for regulatory obligations
• Represent regulatory interests across workstreams and products
• Drive alignment with global stakeholders
• Implement processes and lead process changes
• Manage incidents
• Act as a senior point of contact for regulators and external counsel
• Manage high-stakes negotiations

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in a regulatory or legal function focused on payments, financial services, or fintech
• Knowledge of the Japan payments, financial services, or fintech industry
• Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Experience managing relationships with internal stakeholders, regulators, or supervisors
• Ability to work independently and take ownership
