Job purpose

The jobholder is responsible to provide engineering expertise in leading the mechanical reliability for multiple assets (cluster) in Borouge, plants, and equipment in line with international engineering standards and best practices to enhance the operations’ operability, productivity, quality, and capacity. This role includes providing effective reliability management systems and guidance for reliability centred maintenance activities and asset criticality analysis; conducting analysis of equipment performance, failure data, and corrective maintenance history; while ensuring that the mechanical reliability process is established and maintained.

Maintenance strategies
Coordinate and facilitate reliability centred maintenance to optimize equipment and system maintenance strategies. Develop and improve predictive, preventive, and major maintenance programs for plant equipment and systems in his plant or area to improve reliability. Develop reliability, availability, and integrity improvement plans in conjunction with managers and leads in the maintenance section.

Root cause analysis
Perform troubleshooting, lead a root cause analysis and design review on equipment failures to identify corrective actions, modifications, or repairs required, and implement new technologies as required. When necessary, introduce new root cause analysis techniques to facilitate equipment failure investigations. Provide guidelines for carrying out root cause analysis methodology and software for maintenance staff.

Compliance & standards
Maintain codes of practice (CoP) and ensure that the standards contained in such codes are thoroughly understood and consistently complied with. Identify statutory requirements as per local government regulation, ADNOC CoP, OEM, and international standards to develop procedures, work instructions, and checklists for various activities and requirements. Propose improvements in business processes and procedures to reduce risk and improve safety standards of the assets.

Reliability management system
Develop and implement a reliability management system for mechanical engineering to ensure a structured, consistent, multi-disciplined approach to reliability and integrity improvement. Assist in the development of a comprehensive maintenance management system for all machinery and equipment. Establish a reliability, availability, and integrity threats database on the common shared server.

Reliability improvement
Participate in the development of engineering and technical solutions to improve reliability performance of systems and equipment. Identify the chronic occurrence of equipment failure modes and components. Suggest economical long-term solutions. Perform FMEA analysis as needed. Track and implement mechanical reliability recommendations to ensure proper deployment of targeted improvements. Coordinate all machinery-related affairs such as studies, load projection, and procedures with other ADNOC group companies’ staff having similar machinery and within the company for the purpose of improvement in reliability and availability.

HSE excellence
Keep abreast and knowledgeable on updates for health, safety, environment, crisis management, and risk registers for all performed processes, projects, and activities within the operating zone. Promote, communicate, and lead by example all safety-related communications, updates, standards, and any related topics with co-workers and within any interface. Contribute to providing timely feedback and recommendations to leverage a risk-free environment to ensure the ultimate goals of a safe workplace.

Qualifications, experience, knowledge & skills

Minimum qualification
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent. Fluency in English language, both written and oral.

Minimum experience & knowledge & skills
Minimum of 8 years of experience in maintenance of petrochemical, oil, and gas industry with 4 years working as senior engineer in reliability and troubleshooting. Working experience in maintenance needs, processes, and strategies for equipment and systems in petrochemical and oil-gas industry. Working knowledge of HSE policies applicable in chemical and petrochemical industry. Knowledge and understanding of planning tools, techniques, philosophy, and processes existing in oil/gas or petrochemical industry. Facilitate execution by overcoming barriers and obstacles within complex projects or conditions. Initiate inter-departmental collaboration on projects or methods of operating.

Professional certifications
Preferred to be certified in reliability centred maintenance. Preferred to be certified in root cause analysis technique. Preferred to be certified in CMRP, CRE.
