Position Summary:
Axonius Federal Systems is seeking a Senior Resident Solutions Engineer to join our team. This hands‑on individual contributor role focuses on designing, building, and owning high‑quality technical solutions that extend and operationalize the Axonius platform in complex, regulated customer environments. As a Senior Resident Solutions Engineer, you will serve as an embedded technical authority for assigned customers, partnering closely with customer engineering teams and Axonius Engineering, Product, and Customer Success. You will own solution quality, scalability, reliability, and maintainability, while continuing to grow your architectural judgment, customer‑facing skills, and platform expertise.

Key Responsibilities:
Engineering & Architecture
- Design, build, and maintain production-grade integrations, automations, and extensions using the Axonius API and supported frameworks.
- Own end-to-end customer solution delivery, from requirements and design through implementation, testing, deployment, and continuous improvement.
- Architect scalable, secure, and reliable solutions optimized for performance and compliance in regulated federal environments.
- Develop clean, testable, well-documented code and contribute reusable patterns, reference architectures, and shared tooling across deployments.
Customer Engagement & Delivery
- Serve as a primary technical contact, leading customer engagements from targeted initiatives to longer-term deployments.
- Translate customer needs into clear designs and execution plans; deliver technical deep dives and enablement while identifying new mission‑aligned use cases in partnership with senior architects.
Operational Excellence
- Troubleshoot complex issues, drive root cause analysis, and support escalations in partnership with cross‑functional teams.
- Ensure solutions are production‑ready, meeting standards for documentation, monitoring, error handling, and controlled promotion to production.
Collaboration, Growth & Feedback
- Contribute as a technical authority in architecture, design, and customer reviews, partnering with Product and Engineering to share customer-driven insights.
- Build trusted customer relationships while developing executive-facing confidence, architectural judgment, and platform depth through hands-on delivery and mentorship.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Active security clearance required; must reside in Tampa, Florida or the Washington, DC area and work on-site five days per week
- 6+ years of experience developing and supporting production software in federal or similarly regulated environments.
- CompTIA Security+ Security certification
- Proficiency in Python with hands-on experience in real-world, version-controlled codebases.
- Experience designing and implementing API‑driven integrations and distributed system solutions.
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals and common data formats (HTTP/HTTPS, LDAP/LDAPS, JSON, CSV, SQL/NoSQL).
- Ability to travel between 0-50%
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience designing or supporting solutions in secure, regulated, or compliance‑driven environments.
- Hands-on experience integrating and operationalizing APIs in customer environments.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and deployment workflows.
- Exposure to containerization, cloud platforms, or modern infrastructure patterns.
- Scripting or automation experience (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell).
