Senior Road Design Technician – Roads Project
Description
Sheladia Associates, Inc. is seeking experienced professionals to join its proposed team for an MCC-funded roads assignment in Zambia. The consultancy covers feasibility studies, outline designs, environmental and social impact assessment, and Employer’s Engineer services for improvements to the T5 and D274/R185a Roads under Zambia Compact II.
The Senior Road Design Technician will support geometric road design and the preparation of engineering drawings for the project.
Responsibilities include:
Prepare geometric road designs and associated engineering drawings.
Use road design and CAD software to develop and update design documentation.
Incorporate survey information and engineering inputs into drawings.
Coordinate with road, drainage, pavement, and other engineering specialists.
Support checks for drawing accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
Higher Diploma from a technical college in civil engineering or a similar discipline.
Membership of the Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ), Engineers Registration Board (EngRB) of Zambia, or a similar internationally recognized professional institution.
At least 10 years of work experience.
Full proficiency in conventional road design and CAD software, such as AutoCAD Civil 3D.
Responsibility for geometric design and preparation of drawings for three rural road projects of similar complexity.
This is a proposal-stage opportunity, subject to contract award and Client approval. Full-time residence in Zambia is not required during the feasibility study phase; however, frequent and extended visits will be necessary as required by the assignment.
