Senior Rotating Engineer
Qualifications & Experience
Qualification: Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Experience: Minimum 12 years' experience as Rotating Engineer in the oil and gas industry.
Experience as Rotating Engineer in projects involving gas turbines and compressors.
Strong leadership skills and good communication skills.
Good analytical skills.
Familiarity with Total general specifications is a plus, along with relevant codes and standards.
Language: Fluent English.
Ability to work on projects in a complex and multicultural environment.
Activities
- Identify Rotating Engineering technical decisions to be made. Define and manage a clear way forward for these decisions and report to the Package Manager.
- Work with the weight control engineer and engineering team to ensure close weight monitoring and control.
- Ensure close coordination with other disciplines on all engineering, constructability, and operational matters.
- Ensure that relevant feedback and lessons learned from previous similar projects are considered.
- Support fabrication and construction engineering by reviewing engineering documents, approving modifications, reviewing non-conformities, and assisting in closure of punch lists.
- Support the construction group by ensuring all mechanical rotating equipment and its auxiliaries are installed correctly as per standards, properly supported, aligned, and leveled according to design requirements.
- Support expediting closure of punch lists by following up with relevant parties from the contractor and/or vendor.
- Support the project during installation and hookup stages by reviewing and approving work packs and reviewing red marks.
- Ensure closure of mechanical rotating engineering dossiers consisting of contractor and vendor deliverables in a timely manner as per project requirements.
- Ensure project documents related to the Mechanical Rotating Engineering discipline are reviewed and commented on in a timely manner and in accordance with company standards, project specifications, and contractual requirements.
- Coordinate and issue project responses to contractors' and vendors' requests on engineering design clarifications and technical query reports (TQR).
- Identify potential deviations and derogations to the company and assist in preparation of deviation packages.
- Review and approve deviation and concession requests from contractors and/or vendors, aligned with the company Technical Referential Person (TRP).
- Consult the Engineering & Construction department to process derogation requests and interface with relevant TRPs to secure needed approvals.
- Review and expedite final project documentation including final dossiers and as-built drawings.
- Support the commissioning execution phase related to the rotating equipment and package.
- Follow the execution of mechanical commissioning activities to achieve commissioning schedule completion targets.
- Supervise commissioning execution to ensure all technical and contractual information is properly recorded, collected, and available for inspection and reference as required by law, regulations, and company policies.
- Control and follow up on vendors' commissioning scope of work activities such as site acceptance tests (SAT), operational test procedures (OTP), document updates, closing of punch lists, and reporting.
