Job description
Do you want to make a global impact with your development skills? And do you want to actively contribute to the further development of our platform and services, creating opportunities for both the organization and yourself? Then this might be the job for you!
Together with the team, you (pro) actively contribute to developing new features and are responsible for the technical future of the platform. Your opinion and ideas really matter at Shypple. You are a senior voice that's genuinely listened to, not a ticket factory.
The focus of this position is on the back-end development of logic on the server-side, the definition and maintenance of our services, and ensuring high performance and responsiveness of the application, and driving the technical evolution of your domains. You will work closely with product owners, analysts, a site reliability engineer, and, of course, your colleague developers.
Regular activities -
Develop and maintain clean, efficient, and scalable Ruby code: -
Own backend features end-to-end in our Ruby on Rails API - from domain modelling and database design through endpoints, service objects, tests, and production rollout; -
Take ownership of a core domain (e.g. financing, performance) and drive its technical evolution; -
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and deploy a high-performance application; -
Contribute to platform and architecture decisions: scalability, performance (query/N+1 optimisation), and reducing tech debt across the codebase; -
Analyzing problems, spotting edge cases, and designing high-quality solutions for them; -
Raise the engineering bar through thorough code review, strong testing discipline, and pragmatic technical guidance to the rest of the squad.
