$175k - $250k

This Blockchain group has just raised $10m+. The group already has a live Ethereum L2 and a regulated stablecoin live in production. Currently, they’re building a new L1 from scratch for trading tokenised real-world assets, spot and perps, 24/7. This role sits on this new project, working on a fully on-chain order book and custom consensus layer in Rust.

They are seeking a Senior Rust Engineer with proven experience in system architecture and execution engines to own the design and build of our CLOB execution layer, order books, matching engines, and blockchain client logic.

Responsibilities:

  • Building the matching engine, order book, and exchange logic (order handling, risk, account/state management) in Rust
  • Working on protocol-level components, state transitions, consensus, validator interaction, and transaction pipelines
  • Optimising for low-latency, high-concurrency performance, with rigorous benchmarking and test coverage

Requirements:

  • 5+ years in systems programming, with 3+ years specifically in Rust
  • Hands-on experience building exchanges, trading platforms, or execution engines (centralised or DEX)
  • A track record contributing to Rust-based L1 protocols (e.g. Solana, Cosmos SDK, Substrate)

Benefits:

  • Remote working
  • Owns the execution layer end to end
  • Competitive base salary + equity
