Senior Rust C++ Backend Engineer

You will design, develop, and maintain robust backend systems for a high-throughput decentralized exchange and network. You will architect event-driven components, support low-latency processing, define storage strategies, implement security and reliability measures, develop comprehensive testing processes, evaluate technologies, document designs, review code, mentor engineers, and collaborate across technical and product functions.

Responsibilities

  • Design develop and maintain scalable backend systems
  • Build high-throughput order-book infrastructure
  • Index on-chain data into event queues and persistence layers
  • Define backend architecture data flows and component interactions
  • Implement reliability high availability failover redundancy and disaster recovery mechanisms
  • Secure backend systems and APIs against attacks
  • Define database data model and messaging storage strategies
  • Develop and execute unit integration security load and performance testing
  • Evaluate backend technologies frameworks and methodologies
  • Document architectural designs
  • Participate in code reviews and enforce coding standards
  • Mentor junior engineers
  • Collaborate with on-chain frontend product quant and executive stakeholders

Requirements

  • 8+ years of backend engineering experience in financial services
  • 6+ years of Rust or C++ experience building scalable web services
  • Mastery of asynchronous programming and advanced concurrency patterns
  • Knowledge of thread safety and lock-free data structures
  • 6+ years of relational database experience with PostgreSQL
  • 4+ years of experience with Kafka Redis RabbitMQ or similar messaging and low-latency persistence systems
  • Experience building high-availability systems handling significant transaction volumes
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Backend and API security hardening experience
  • Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies
  • Experience with AWS Azure or GCP
  • Experience with Docker or Kubernetes
  • Experience with low-level network programming and asynchronous I/O
  • Experience with direct socket programming and Linux kernel optimizations
  • Experience tuning latency-sensitive trading components
  • Familiarity with blockchain smart contracts and decentralized systems
  • Knowledge of finance and derivatives trading
