What The Role Is

Reporting to the Safety Manager, the Senior Safety Specialist is responsible for providing professional safety/technical training on topics related to renewable energy (wind, solar, battery storage) production/delivery. Utilize a systematic approach to training to develop, deliver, and maintain training materials. Develop evaluation instruments and collect trainee and stakeholder feedback for program improvements. Support site safety needs as required. This position requires travel approximately 70% of the time to sites to administer training. Preferred candidate location is the east region (east of the Mississippi River) and would be co-located at one of our sites.

This hybrid position will preferably be based east of the Mississippi River, co-located at one of our sites.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Implement the systematic approach to the training process to develop and deliver technical and safety training.
  • Travel to Clearway sites and the Clearway training center to conduct classroom and on-the-job training to field Technicians in component theory, operation, and maintenance of renewable energy assets, and troubleshooting best practices.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and instructional designers in the research, development, and preparation of clear, concise, and engaging course content in accordance with Clearway Technician job qualification standards.
  • Design and develop skills enhancement strategies and practices to support the continuous improvement of technicians’ knowledge and skills necessary to meet/exceed business and organizational needs.
  • Provide support to the training process unique to renewable energy, including working with 3rd party training vendors as needed.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the company safety program and each of the program activities.
  • Support Safety Specialists with site-related responsibilities as needed. This may include safety audits and incident investigations.

What You'll Bring

  • 5 years of practical experience in electrical generation, including renewable energy.
  • Education or technical field training/experience related to renewable energy preferred, or a combination of education and experience providing equivalent technical knowledge is required (trade school, instructor certification, military training, journeyman training).
  • Previous experience with technical training development and delivery.
  • Extensive knowledge of multiple renewable energy platforms and components
  • Ability to develop and conduct classroom training and engage the adult learner with different styles of learning.
  • Must have strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrate effective communication skills with all levels of field technicians, supervisors, and management.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical schematics.
  • Ability to work in a mechanical environment. This may be achieved through formal training or previous work experience.
  • A basic knowledge and understanding of OSHA, safety program concepts, standards, and codes.
  • Ability to positively interact with regulatory agencies.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple critical priorities.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks within a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a team member.
  • Ability to travel up to 70% of the time.

The pay rate for the successful candidate will depend on geographic location, skills, relevant and demonstrated experience, education, training and certifications, and other factors permitted by law. This role is eligible to earn an annual cash bonus, subject to personal and company performance goals.

$92,000$110,000 USD
