Senior Sales Engineer
Summary
Senior Sales Engineer at Ping Identity demonstrates identity solutions, leads technical presentations, and guides customers through proof-of-concept setups to close enterprise deals.
You will support the sales team through technical demonstrations, presentations, proof of concepts, technical guidance, and RfX responses. You will advise customers and partners on identity solutions, lead customer meetings, coordinate pre-sales efforts, provide product feedback, mentor team members, and develop subject matter expertise in a Ping Identity solution.
Responsibilities
- Deliver pre-sales activities including demonstrations, presentations, technical guidance, proof of concepts, and RfX responses
- Act as the technical expert on Ping Identity solutions for customers, partners, and internal teams
- Establish customer relationships and serve as a trusted advisor
- Collaborate with the sales team during qualification, discovery, and technical proof phases
- Coordinate pre-sales efforts with post-sales service delivery teams
- Lead customer-facing meetings, presentations, whiteboarding sessions, and demonstrations
- Provide feedback on product enhancements and customer needs
- Mentor junior team members
- Develop subject matter expertise in a Ping Identity solution
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent field, or 5+ years of experience with enterprise-level software systems in a customer-facing role
- Knowledge of SAML, WS-Fed, OAuth, OIDC, SCIM, and REST interfaces
- Knowledge of LDAP, Active Directory, SSL/TLS, PKI, RADIUS, SQL, DNS, and JDBC
- Experience with JavaScript, Python, Node.js, HTTP, HTML, CSS, JSON, or Java
- Expertise developing and delivering technical presentations, workshops, demonstrations, and proof of concepts
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Knowledge of authentication, authorization, federation, single sign-on, provisioning, governance, or workflow
- Familiarity with infrastructure, networking technologies, and cloud service providers
- Ability to travel 15% to 40%
