Senior Salesforce Quality Assurance Tester
Description
The Senior Salesforce Tester will own the end-to-end QA lifecycle, ensuring the continuous delivery of high-quality, secure, and resilient capabilities on the Salesforce platform. In this role, you will design comprehensive test strategies, build robust test plans including test data, and drive defect lifecycle management within a fast-paced Agile framework.
As a key member of the engineering team, you will bridge the gap between technical execution and business intent. You will collaborate closely with Salesforce architects, developers, and business analysts to translate complex business requirements and multi-system integrations into scalable testing infrastructure. The ideal candidate brings a forward-thinking mindset to automation, selecting tools and frameworks that minimize maintenance overhead while maximizing platform test coverage.
An understanding of DoD and federal government security standards, policies, and impact levels is essential to ensure that all deployed capabilities remain secure, compliant, and highly available.

- Industry Experience: 5+ years of dedicated hands on experience as a Salesforce Quality Assurance Tester.
- Salesforce Platform Knowledge: 5+ years of hands-on Salesforce platform experience. Comprehensive understanding of platform security models, custom objects, page layouts, validation rules, and modern declarative automation (Salesforce Flows).
- UI & Component Testing: Proven experience navigating and testing complex Salesforce Lightning UI, custom Lightning Web Components (LWC), and authenticated/guest Experience Cloud environments.
- Modern Test Automation: Hands-on experience building automated test suites using modern Salesforce-centric or web-automation tools (e.g., Provar, Copado Robotic Testing, Playwright, Selenium, or Cypress).
- API & Data Testing: Strong knowledge of REST/SOAP APIs, JSON data structures, API testing tools (e.g., Postman), and data-driven testing strategies.
- Agile Frameworks: Solid experience working in a mature Agile/SCRUM development environment utilizing modern DevSecOps pipeline workflows.
- Security & Compliance: Familiarity with federal IT security standards, Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) handling, and access controls within a government cloud environment.
Typical Duties/Abilities:
- Test Strategy & Execution: Design, maintain, and execute comprehensive test plans, test scenarios, and automated/manual test scripts based on user stories, technical architecture, and acceptance criteria.
- Test Automation & Optimization: Build and maintain scalable, data-driven automation frameworks targeting Salesforce UI, Lightning Web Components (LWCs), back-end logic, and end-to-end business flows to support continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD).
- Integration & API Validation: Define and execute end-to-end test cases validating complex cross-system integrations, data synchronizations, and REST/SOAP API contracts.
- Agile Collaboration: Actively participate in daily Standups, Sprint Planning, Backlog Refinement, and Story Pointing sessions, advocating for testability and quality safeguards early in the product lifecycle.
- Defect & Release Management: Manage the full defect lifecycle, performing root-cause analysis, collaborating with developers on triage, and spearheading regression testing events prior to production deployments.
- Metrics & Reporting: Establish, track, and present actionable QA metrics, automation coverage reports, and defect trends to leadership and the Program Management Office (PMO).
Soft Skills
- Exceptional Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills are paramount. Must demonstrate an ability to translate highly technical testing metrics, automation trade-offs, and quality risks into clear, actionable insights for leadership and non-technical stakeholders.
- Collaboration & Influence: Proven track record of taking proactive solution ownership, building consensus across development teams, and championing a culture of quality.
- Analytical Problem Solving: Strong critical thinking skills with a methodical approach to diagnosing complex, multi-system integration failures and platform limitations.
Education/Certifications:
- Education: BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline (or equivalent experience).
- Certifications (Highly Desired): Salesforce Certified Administrator, Salesforce Certified Platform App Builder, or relevant software testing certifications (e.g., ISTQB).
