Position Overview

We are seeking three experienced Senior SAP ABAP Developers to design, develop, and enhance modern SAP solutions, with a strong focus on the ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model (RAP), SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), OData services, SAP Fiori, and Eclipse-based ABAP Development Tools (ADT).

Ideal candidates will have demonstrated experience delivering complex SAP projects, the ability to work independently, and fluent English communication skills to collaborate effectively with international teams and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain SAP applications and extensions using modern ABAP development practices and the RAP programming model.

• Develop and consume OData services to enable seamless integration across SAP Fiori applications, SAP solutions, and external systems.

• Build SAP Fiori applications and contribute to user experiences that align with SAP design standards and best practices.

• Use Eclipse and ABAP Development Tools (ADT) as the primary environment for development, debugging, and artifact management.

• Develop extensions and integrations on SAP BTP, applying clean core principles while ensuring security, scalability, and reusability.

• Contribute to technical solution design, effort estimation, backlog refinement, code reviews, and the establishment of development standards.

• Analyze functional requirements and translate them into robust, well-documented technical solutions aligned with SAP best practices.

• Troubleshoot complex production incidents, performance issues, and integration failures.

• Collaborate closely with functional consultants, architects, integration teams, SAP Basis and security specialists, and international stakeholders.

• Mentor less experienced developers and contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering processes and development practices.

Required Qualifications and Technical Skills

• Proven senior-level experience in SAP ABAP development, preferably involving SAP S/4HANA implementations, transformations, or system enhancements.

• Strong expertise in ABAP Objects, Core Data Services (CDS), annotations, classes, interfaces, enhancement frameworks, Business Add-Ins (BAdIs), and debugging techniques.

• Demonstrated hands-on experience with the ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model (RAP), including business objects, behavior definitions, service definitions, and service bindings.

• Practical experience with SAP BTP, including side-by-side extensions and/or integration scenarios involving SAP solutions.

• Solid understanding of OData services, REST APIs, JSON/XML data formats, and authentication and authorization concepts.

• Experience with SAP Fiori, Fiori Elements, SAPUI5, and front-end/back-end integration.

• Advanced proficiency with Eclipse and ABAP Development Tools (ADT), including development, version control, testing, and code analysis.

• Strong understanding of clean core principles, SAP extensibility, code quality, application security, and performance optimization.

• Ability to produce technical documentation, specifications, effort estimates, and test evidence.

• Fluent English, both written and spoken, with the ability to actively participate in meetings, presentations, and technical discussions with global teams.

• Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and consistently deliver high-quality solutions within established timelines.

Professional Experience and Education

• Significant professional experience in senior-level SAP ABAP development, with a proven track record of contributing to highly complex SAP projects.

• Demonstrated delivery experience involving RAP, OData, SAP Fiori, SAP BTP, and ADT/Eclipse in production environments.

• Experience across the full software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, technical design, development, testing, deployment, application support, and continuous improvement.

• Experience working with multicultural, globally distributed teams in Agile or hybrid delivery environments.

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with SAP S/4HANA Cloud, including public and private cloud editions.

• Familiarity with ABAP Cloud, Embedded Steampunk, and the SAP Cloud Application Programming Model (CAP).

• Experience with SAP Integration Suite, API Management, Event Mesh, or other SAP BTP integration services.

• Knowledge of SAP Business Application Studio, Git, and CI/CD and DevOps practices.

• Experience with automated testing, ABAP Unit, ABAP Test Cockpit (ATC), Code Inspector, and code quality and security analysis.

• Understanding of in-app and side-by-side extensibility, released APIs, and clean core governance.

• Experience with SAP HANA, data modeling, query optimization, and performance analysis.

• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies, backlog management tools, and software engineering best practices.

• SAP certifications related to ABAP, SAP BTP, SAP Fiori, or SAP S/4HANA.

• Functional knowledge of SAP business processes and experience working closely with functional consultants.
