Senior SAP FICO

We are seeking an experienced Senior SAP FICO Consultant / SAP Finance Functional Lead for an urgent client engagement in Perth.

The successful candidate will bring strong SAP Finance functional expertise, particularly in FI-AA (Asset Accounting), together with proven experience facilitating business requirements, fit-gap and solution design workshops.

This is a client-facing functional role requiring someone who can quickly understand existing business processes, validate requirements, identify design gaps and facilitate productive discussions with Finance stakeholders.

Perth-based candidates with immediate availability are strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Facilitate Finance and Asset Accounting workshops with business stakeholders.
  

• Review existing business process documentation, solution designs and previously agreed requirements.
  

• Lead requirements clarification, fit-gap analysis and solution design discussions.
  

• Assess fixed asset accounting processes, including asset additions, disposals, depreciation, transfers, revaluations and capitalisation.
  

• Address Assets Under Construction (AuC), project/WBS integration and asset reporting requirements.
  

• Analyse loan accounting requirements, including loan-to-asset relationships, apportionment, balances, interest calculations and financial reporting.
  

• Assess lease accounting requirements where applicable.
  

• Identify gaps between existing SAP functionality, documented requirements and newly raised business needs.
  

• Support requirements documentation, design decisions, issue resolution and stakeholder alignment.
  

• Work collaboratively with technical and solution teams to translate Finance requirements into practical SAP solutions.
  

• Extensive SAP FICO / SAP Finance functional consulting experience.
  

• Strong, demonstrable SAP FI-AA / Asset Accounting expertise.
  

• Experience with SAP S/4HANA Finance or relevant SAP ECC Finance implementations.
  

• Proven experience facilitating client-facing Finance workshops, requirements gathering or solution design sessions.
  

• Strong understanding of fixed asset accounting, depreciation, capitalisation and asset lifecycle processes.
  

• Excellent stakeholder management, analytical and communication skills.
  

• Ability to work independently and contribute effectively from the outset.
  

Highly Desirable

• Experience in mining, resources, energy, utilities or other asset-intensive industries.
  

• SAP Finance integration with Project Systems (PS), WBS elements and capital projects.
  

• Experience with loan accounting, interest calculations, lease accounting and asset-related financial reporting.
  

• Experience in business process design, fit-gap analysis, functional specifications and UAT.
  

• Experience working through project restarts, design reviews or requirements revalidation.
  

Priority: Candidates who are Perth-based, available immediately and capable of independently facilitating senior-level SAP Finance workshops.
