We’re hiring a Senior Data Engineer with strong Scala and Spark expertise to support advanced data transformation and enrichment workflows in the financial sector. You'll work at the heart of a modern data platform powering analytics, machine learning, and intelligent automation at scale. This role is ideal for someone who understands both the power and the complexity of big data architectures and thrives in building scalable pipelines for high-throughput environments.

🔧 What You’ll Be Working On:

  • Designing and maintaining robust ETL/ELT pipelines using Apache Spark and Scala

  • Developing distributed data processing systems for massive volumes of structured and unstructured data

  • Collaborating with data scientists to prepare and deliver clean datasets for machine learning and advanced analytics

  • Supporting real-time and batch data workflows across a modern data infrastructure

  • Actively participating in sprint reviews and team demos to present technical progress

  • Maintaining codebases via Git and contributing to high-quality, testable code

✅ What You Bring:

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with Spark and Scala, and some exposure to Python

  • Experience working with the Hadoop ecosystem (Hive, HDFS, Oozie, MapReduce, etc.)

  • Strong command of SQL dialects used in Spark or Hive

  • Proven ability to build, deploy, and manage data flows across large-scale systems

  • Practical experience with Git/Bitbucket and collaborative workflows

  • Strong communication skills in English (both spoken and written)

💡 Bonus Points For:

  • Familiarity with version control branching strategies and CI/CD pipelines

  • Experience with Agile/SAFe project delivery models

  • Exposure to AWS (certification is a strong plus)

  • Hands-on use of IBM Cloud Pak for Data

  • Interest in or experience with Machine Learning workflows
