You will be:

  • designing, developing, and enhancing backend services using Scala,
  • optimizing the performance, scalability, and reliability of large-scale applications,
  • investigating, troubleshooting, and resolving complex technical issues affecting production systems,
  • collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify bottlenecks and implement effective solutions,
  • contributing to the continuous improvement of engineering practices and code quality,
  • supporting knowledge sharing and mentoring less experienced engineers.

Your profile:

  • 5+ years of commercial experience in Scala backend development,
  • strong experience building and maintaining scalable backend applications,
  • solid background in system performance tuning and optimization,
  • practical experience using AI-powered assistants (e.g. Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor) to improve productivity, quality, or decision-making in software delivery,
  • ability to analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve complex technical issues,
  • strong understanding of backend engineering best practices and software design principles,
  • proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement,
  • strong collaboration and communication skills,
  • good command of English (min. B2).
  • Work from the European Union region and a work permit are required.

Nice to have:

  • Experience applying GenAI in a more structured way within the SDLC, including defined workflows, prompt patterns, or tool integrations embedded into daily work.

  • Interest in and familiarity with emerging AI-driven practices (e.g. agent-based workflows, automation patterns, AI-augmented development), with a willingness to explore and experiment beyond standard approaches.
