Senior SDET

Description

We are looking for an experienced Senior SDET to build test automation into the engineering culture from the very first commit. The ideal candidate designs a test strategy as an engineering discipline, building frameworks, pipelines, and quality gates that let a fast-moving team ship transactional software with confidence.

Responsibilities:

  • Define and implement the test automation strategy across backend services, web, and native mobile apps.
  • Build and maintain automation frameworks for unit, integration, API, end-to-end, and mobile testing.
  • Embed quality gates into CI/CD so every merge is verified automatically.
  • Build test coverage for correctness-critical flows: identity verification, payments, and escrow.
  • Establish test data management, environments, and contract testing against external integrations.
  • Coach engineers on testing practices and own quality metrics and reporting.

Requirements:

  • 6+ years of experience in test automation / SDET roles for production software.
  • Strong programming skills (Go, TypeScript, Python, or similar); this is an engineering role, not a manual QA role.
  • Experience building automation frameworks from scratch (e. g., Playwright, Cypress, Appium, or equivalent).
  • Experience testing APIs, event-driven systems, and asynchronous flows.
  • Experience testing money-moving or otherwise correctness-critical systems.
  • Strong CI/CD experience and comfort owning pipeline quality gates.
  • Ability to work independently and set standards with minimal ramp time.

Preferred:

  • Experience testing native mobile apps (iOS and Android).
  • Experience with contract testing (Pact or similar) against third-party integrations.
  • Experience with performance and load testing.
