The Opportunity

As a Senior Security Operative, you'll be one of our senior technical specialists, responsible for strengthening the cyber security posture of a diverse portfolio of clients while helping to evolve our managed security services.

You'll work closely with our Service Desk, Projects and Security Operations teams to deliver proactive security solutions, respond to emerging threats and provide expert guidance to both clients and colleagues.

What You'll Be Doing

Your day-to-day will include:

  • Managing and continuously improving cyber security platforms across multiple client environments.

  • Monitoring, investigating and responding to security alerts, incidents and vulnerabilities.

  • Designing, implementing and optimising security controls using Microsoft security technologies and industry best practice.

  • Conducting security reviews, compliance assessments and vulnerability management activities.

  • Identifying security risks and driving remediation strategies to improve client security maturity.

  • Collaborating with internal technical teams to deliver secure, reliable and scalable solutions.

  • Providing mentoring, coaching and technical leadership to junior engineers.

  • Keeping abreast of emerging threats, technologies and security frameworks to continually enhance our services.

About You

You're a motivated security professional who enjoys solving complex problems, taking ownership and making a meaningful difference for clients.

You communicate confidently with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, enjoy sharing your knowledge and thrive in a collaborative team environment.

Ideally, you'll have experience with:

  • Microsoft Defender suite

  • Microsoft Sentinel

  • Microsoft Entra ID

  • Microsoft 365 Security

  • Azure Security

  • Conditional Access

  • Microsoft Intune

  • Vulnerability Management

  • Security monitoring and incident response

  • Security compliance and governance

  • Working within a Managed Services Provider (MSP) environment (highly regarded)

Certifications

Essential (or working towards):

  • Microsoft SC-200

  • Microsoft AZ-500

Highly regarded:

  • Microsoft SC-100

  • Microsoft SC-300

  • Microsoft SC-400

  • CISSP

Working Arrangement

This Melbourne-based role offers a structured onboarding experience to set you up for success.

  • Full-time onsite during your first six months.

  • Following successful completion of probation, transition to a hybrid arrangement of three days in the office and two days working from home.

The successful candidate will be required to complete:

  • Police Check

  • NDIS Worker Screening Check

  • Working with Children Check

These checks will be arranged and funded by KMTech as part of the recruitment process.
