Job Description:
Roles & Responsibilities:
ServiceNow developer is responsible for developing, and a team player for ServiceNow implementations. This role requires deep technical expertise, strong development background, and the ability to lead customer discussions, and drive delivery excellence across the ServiceNow platform.
The individual will act as the technical authority, ensuring best practices, platform stability, performance, and scalable solutions while aligning business needs with ServiceNow capabilities.
Act as the overall technical owner for ServiceNow implementations and enhancements
Define technical & development guidelines
Review and approve technical scripts, and configurations
Ensure platform performance, security, scalability, and upgrade readiness
Drive adherence to ServiceNow best practices and OOTB-first approach
Hands-on development using: Business Rules, Script Includes, UI Policies, Client Scripts, Flow Designer, Integration Hub, Scheduled Jobs, Service Catalog, Order Guides, Workflows
Lead complex customizations while minimizing technical debt
Handle advanced troubleshooting, performance bottlenecks, and production issues
Support data loads, transformations, and data validation strategies
Lead customer technical discussions, design workshops, and solution walkthroughs
Translate business requirements into technical solutions and system designs
Provide clear technical guidance to customers and set realistic expectations
Act as the escalation point for critical issues, hyper care, and go-live support
Review code and enforce coding standards and quality gates
Guide team members on design decisions and problem-solving
Work closely with Project Managers, Architects, and Product Owners
Ensure timely delivery aligned with scope, quality, and performance benchmarks
Participate in change, incident, and defect triage discussions
Experience & Qualifications:
Certifications
- ServiceNow Certified System Administrator CSA (Mandatory)
- ServiceNow Certified Application Developer CAD (Mandatory)
- Certified Implementation Specialist – IT Operations Management (ITOM)
Experience
- 5+ years of hands-on ServiceNow development
- Exposure to enterprise-scale ServiceNow programs
- Strong hands-on experience with: ITSM, ITOM, CMDB, Service Catalog, Incident, Problem, Change, Request
- Deep scripting knowledge: JavaScript, Glide APIs, server-side & client-side scripting
- Integration using REST, SOAP, MID Server
- Performance tuning, ACLs, security best practices
