Position Overview
We're looking for a Senior ServiceNow Developer who wants to take ownership of enterprise ServiceNow development rather than simply work through tickets.
You'll work directly with an Australian enterprise technology team, developing and improving a mature ServiceNow environment across ITSM, CMDB, integrations, automation and service catalogue.
This is a permanent, fully remote role, working 7:00 AM–4:00 PM PHT, with occasional visits to our Ortigas office when required.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, configure and enhance ServiceNow solutions across the platform, with a primary focus on ITSM, CMDB, service catalogue, Knowledge Management, NowAssist, workflows, automation and integrations.
Translate business and process requirements into scalable technical designs that are maintainable, supportable and aligned to ServiceNow best practice.
Support the full ServiceNow delivery lifecycle, including discovery, requirements clarification, solution design, development, peer review, testing, deployment, hypercare and BAU support.
Develop and maintain client-side and server-side scripts, business rules, script includes, UI policies, catalog client scripts, flows and integrations.
Build and support integrations between ServiceNow and enterprise systems using REST APIs, Integration Hub, MID Servers and related integration patterns.
Support CMDB and CSDM-related development, including CI data structures, relationships, service mapping inputs, data quality rules and lifecycle controls.
Develop and optimise service catalogue items, record producers, workflows and request fulfilment processes to improve user experience and reduce manual effort.
Provide technical leadership and mentoring to other developers, including code reviews, design guidance and adherence to development standards.
Troubleshoot complex technical issues, defects and platform incidents, ensuring root cause is understood and sustainable fixes are implemented.
Contribute to release planning, deployment readiness, update set management, testing governance and post-release validation.
Identify opportunities to simplify, automate and improve ServiceNow processes while reducing technical debt and unnecessary customisation.
Work collaboratively with business analysts, product owners, architects, platform owners, process owners and offshore/onshore delivery teams.
Technical Skills and Experience
Minimum 5+ years of hands-on ServiceNow development experience in an enterprise environment.
Strong experience across ServiceNow ITSM modules, including Incident, Problem, Change, Request, Knowledge and Service Catalogue.
Experience with CMDB design, CI relationships, data quality, lifecycle controls and CSDM-aligned structures.
Strong JavaScript capability, including client scripts, business rules, script includes, UI actions, UI policies and Glide APIs.
Experience with Flow Designer, Workflow, Integration Hub, REST APIs, scripted REST APIs and MID Server-based integrations.
Understanding of ServiceNow platform architecture, security model, ACLs, roles, groups, update sets and environment management.
Experience supporting Agile, hybrid or waterfall delivery environments, with an understanding of sprint delivery, release cycles and change control.
Ability to analyse existing configuration, identify technical debt and recommend practical remediation options.
Strong troubleshooting skills across platform defects, integrations, workflow failures, catalogue issues and production incidents.
Desirable Experience
Experience with ITOM, ITAM, Discovery, Service Mapping, Software Asset Management or Hardware Asset Management.
Experience with Employee Center, Service Portal, Virtual Agent, automation or AI-enabled ServiceNow capabilities.
Experience working with offshore/onshore delivery models and distributed teams.
ServiceNow Certified System Administrator certification.
ServiceNow Certified Application Developer certification.
ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist certification in relevant modules.
ITIL Foundation or practical experience working in ITIL-aligned service management environments.
Key Capabilities and Behaviours
Operates independently and takes ownership of technical outcomes from design through to production support.
Communicates clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders, including explaining options, risks and recommended approaches.
Challenges poor design or unnecessary customisation in a constructive and professional way.
Balances speed of delivery with quality, supportability, security and long-term platform health.
Works collaboratively across time zones and contributes positively to an offshore delivery model.
Documents technical designs, configuration decisions, support notes and handover information clearly.
Demonstrates strong problem-solving capability and a continuous improvement mindset.
Ideal Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate is a senior, hands-on ServiceNow Developer who understands that successful platform delivery is more than coding. They can operate across the full delivery lifecycle, ask the right questions, identify risk early, design sustainable solutions and support the platform after release. They will be confident working with offshore and onshore teams, able to provide practical technical leadership, and focused on building a stable, scalable and business-aligned ServiceNow platform.
