Senior Shopify Developer – E-commerce & Website Optimization (Remote)

Job Summary

We are seeking a proactive Shopify Developer to manage, maintain, and optimize a fashion e-commerce website. This role combines Shopify theme development, product catalog management, website performance monitoring, third-party app integrations, and conversion rate optimization. The ideal candidate takes ownership of the website, identifies improvement opportunities, and delivers solutions that enhance site performance, customer experience, and online sales.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and customize Shopify themes using Liquid, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

• Develop and update custom sections, templates, landing pages, and storefront features.

• Upload and manage products, collections, and high volumes of product and campaign images.

• Optimize image file sizes, alt text, naming conventions, and website content accuracy.

• Monitor website functionality, broken links, checkout issues, app conflicts, responsive layouts, and page speed.

• Identify opportunities to improve conversion rate, average order value (AOV), and customer experience.

• Manage, configure, and troubleshoot Shopify apps and integrations for reviews, search, loyalty, returns, and email/SMS capture.

• Configure and quality-check product launches, promotions, and sales campaigns across desktop and mobile devices.

• Support website tracking and marketing tools, including GA4, marketing pixels, pop-ups, and Klaviyo forms.

• Document theme changes, app configurations, and website management procedures.

• Communicate recommendations and progress clearly with a distributed team working across time zones.

Required Experience

• 3+ years of hands-on Shopify development experience, including Liquid theme customization.

• Experience maintaining at least one additional retail or e-commerce website.

• Proven experience managing product catalogs and high-volume product and image uploads.

• Experience troubleshooting website issues and maintaining responsive, user-friendly storefronts.

Nice-to-Have Experience

• Experience working with fashion, apparel, or direct-to-consumer (DTC) brands.

• Experience with Shopify Plus and Online Store 2.0.

• Experience with page-speed optimization, conversion rate optimization (CRO), and A/B testing.

• Experience with Klaviyo, GA4, Meta Pixel, TikTok Pixel, and marketing integrations.

• Experience using heatmaps, session recordings, and website analytics tools.

• Basic image editing, batch resizing, and image compression using Photoshop or similar tools.

Required Skills

• Shopify Development: Liquid, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and theme customization.

• E-commerce Website Operations: Product catalog management, image optimization, QA, and troubleshooting.
