Senior Shopify Developer / Technical Consultant

Salary: Negotiable based on level of experience

Senior Shopify Developer / Technical Consultant needed to join an established digital commerce consultancy delivering sophisticated Shopify and Shopify Plus solutions for leading brands.

We’re looking for a highly experienced Shopify Technical Consultant who combines strong hands-on development capability with the confidence to work directly with clients, lead technical conversations and take solutions from initial requirements through to production.

This isn't a purely advisory role. You'll remain hands-on technically, while taking ownership of solution design, development, integrations, testing, deployment and technical delivery.

The Role Working across Shopify support, retainers and major implementation projects, you will:

• Own Shopify technical delivery from requirements through to go-live
• Design, build, test and deploy Shopify solutions and integrations
• Lead technical discovery, workshops and solutioning discussions with clients
• Work across Shopify Online Store, Liquid, Hydrogen, Apps, Functions and APIs
• Develop and integrate custom Shopify applications
• Deliver integrations across ERP, loyalty, fulfilment, POS and other platforms
• Support integration testing, UAT, cutover and production releases
• Provide technical estimates and identify scope, delivery and technical risks
• Provide technical oversight and guidance to other developers
• Contribute to CI/CD, deployment tooling and Shopify development standards
• Work with emerging AI and LLM technologies within ecommerce and Shopify environments

What We're Looking For:

• 5+ years' hands-on Shopify development experience
• Strong commercial experience with Shopify Plus
• Advanced Liquid development skills
• Experience with Hydrogen, Shopify CLI, Markets, Functions, Apps and UI Extensions
• Strong knowledge of Shopify Storefront and Admin APIs
• Experience building custom Shopify apps
• Strong third-party integration experience
• Experience across the complete software delivery lifecycle
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines within Shopify environments
• Experience working in an agency, consultancy or professional services environment highly desirable
• Strong client-facing and stakeholder communication skills
• Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear commercial language

Exposure to AI tooling, LLM integrations or AI-enabled ecommerce would be highly regarded.
