Senior Site Reliability Engineer
Summary
Senior SRE on a FedRAMP Moderate-authorised platform, owning reliability and design across multi-cluster Amazon EKS and AWS GovCloud, with incident response, compliance (DISA STIG, NIST 800-53), and observability (Prometheus/Grafana) responsibilities on a hybrid, rotational on-call contract.
FedRAMP Cloud Environment · Rotational On-Call - Hybrid
KEY REQUIREMENT
This role requires US citizenship and residence on US soil. It sits within a FedRAMP Moderate-authorised environment, so FedRAMP suitability and US-soil-only eligibility are non-negotiable, not preferred.
Build the systems. Fix what breaks. Help keep a regulated cloud platform audit-ready.
This is a hands-on senior engineering role on a FedRAMP-authorised platform: real architecture work, real incident ownership, real compliance stakes. If you want a role where your decisions actually shape the infrastructure rather than just maintaining someone else's, this is it.
WHAT YOU'LL OWN
· Reliability and design decisions. Across multi-cluster Amazon EKS and AWS Commercial/GovCloud infrastructure.
· Advanced incident response. Root cause, resolution, and the RCA that follows.
· A slice of FedRAMP compliance. Vulnerability management, DISA STIG hardening, NIST SP 800-53 controls in practice.
· Observability architecture. Prometheus, Grafana, SLIs/SLOs that actually mean something to the business.
Requirements
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU
· 5–8+ years in SRE, cloud DevOps, or infrastructure architecture.
· Strong AWS (VPC, IAM, EC2, S3, KMS) and hands-on GovCloud exposure.
· Kubernetes/EKS depth. Cluster upgrades, Helm, container security, not just kubectl basics.
· Comfort with Terraform, GitLab CI/CD, and GitOps workflows.
· US citizenship and US-soil residency, with availability for rotational on-call coverage.
Benefits
WHAT YOU'LL GET FROM US
· A defined contract term. Mid-September through end of March, with a clear scope from day one.
· Competitive W2 hourly rate. $85–$105/hr, reflecting FedRAMP/GovCloud premium and shift work, DOE.
· Genuinely useful experience. Direct exposure to a live FedRAMP audit environment.
· Straight talk. A recruiter who'll actually tell you what the engagement is really like before you sign.
