Description

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Events and Announcements Social Media Manager to support Microsoft and help turn high-visibility launches, events, and announcements into coordinated, channel-ready social moments.

This is not a traditional event-management role. The focus is social activation: building the plan, aligning stakeholders, managing editorial readiness, coordinating approvals and publishing, monitoring performance, and translating results into clear recommendations. You will connect strategy and execution across a fast-moving, highly matrixed environment where timing, accuracy, and judgment matter.

͏

Event & Announcement Strategy

  • Develop social activation strategies for Microsoft events, product launches, announcements, and priority moments, defining objectives, target audiences, channel roles, timing, and success measures.
  • Translate business and campaign briefs into actionable pre-event, live-moment, and post-event social plans.
  • Recommend how announcements should activate across channels based on audience behavior, platform strengths, business priorities, risk considerations, and available content.
  • Identify opportunities to connect related moments, extend the value and lifespan of high-performing content, and create continuity across the editorial calendar.

Editorial Readiness & Publishing Operations

  • Build and maintain detailed editorial calendars, activation timelines, readiness checklists, and ownership plans across multiple concurrent workstreams.
  • Coordinate final copy, creative assets, links, channel specifications, tagging, tracking parameters, scheduling, and version control to ensure content is launch-ready.
  • Manage publishing workflows in Sprinklr, ensuring approvals, embargo timing, dependencies, and launch requirements are clearly documented and resolved.
  • Review scheduled content for accuracy, brand alignment, platform best practices, accessibility, and final asset readiness.
  • Monitor live social activity and adjust plans in real time as business priorities, timing, approvals, or external conditions evolve.

͏

Stakeholder & Program Management

  • Serve as the central point of coordination across Microsoft social leads, product marketing teams, creative partners, agencies, legal and compliance reviewers, and publishing teams.
  • Lead status discussions, proactively identify risks and dependencies, clarify decisions and ownership, and keep stakeholders aligned on priorities, readiness, blockers, and changes.
  • Manage multiple high-priority, concurrent requests while maintaining quality, deadlines, and a strong stakeholder experience.
  • Navigate a complex, matrixed environment with confidence and diplomacy, influencing progress and driving accountability without relying on direct authority.

Performance, Insights & Continuous Improvement

  • Track event and announcement performance using established metrics, tagging structures, measurement frameworks, and reporting inputs.
  • Go beyond activity reporting to identify what worked, what did not, why it mattered, and how future activations can improve.
  • Translate campaign and channel performance data into concise, actionable insights and recommendations for social leads and business stakeholders.
  • Lead or contribute to post-activation reviews, capturing learnings and maintaining reusable playbooks, templates, checklists, and best practices.
  • Apply AI-assisted workflows and automation thoughtfully to improve planning efficiency, quality control, analysis, and operational consistency.

͏

3+ years of experience in social media strategy, editorial operations, integrated marketing, campaign activation, or a related field.
Demonstrated experience coordinating high-visibility social campaigns, product launches, announcements, events, or related activations.
Strong program and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple interdependent workstreams, deadlines, approvals, dependencies, and shifting priorities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including clear status reporting, stakeholder guidance, and concise, executive-ready recommendations.
Strong editorial judgment and attention to detail across copy, creative assets, links, tagging, timing, tracking, and platform requirements.
Experience analyzing performance data to generate actionable insights and improve future social strategy and execution.
Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and collaborate effectively across large, cross-functional and matrixed teams.

͏

Preferred qualifications
Experience supporting Microsoft or another large enterprise technology organization.
Hands-on experience with Sprinklr or a comparable enterprise social publishing, management, and reporting platform.
Experience developing and managing social content across LinkedIn, X, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Threads, and emerging or community-based channels.
Working knowledge of social media governance, brand safety, accessibility, approval workflows, and embargoed communications.
Proficiency with Microsoft 365 tools, particularly Teams, Outlook, & SharePoint/OneDrive.
