Senior Software Developer (Algo Trading) - Global Investment Bank

Our client is a Global Investment Bank renowned for driving operational excellence, robust financial technology, and digital transformation across complex, highly regulated environments. As part of an expansion within their front-office electronic trading technology group, they are seeking dedicated engineering professionals to support end-to-end systematic trading platform development, exchange connectivity, and market integration across the APAC region.

We are seeking a detail-oriented Senior Software Engineer (Algo Trading) to join a dynamic electronic trading technology team. Operating within a global follow-the-sun model, you will build high-performance environments for trading decision-making and systematic investment strategies. Sitting within the technology function, you will work directly alongside front-office traders, quantitative strategists, and core market data teams to deliver high-quality, business-critical software in a fast-paced capital markets environment.

Key responsibilities:

• Build and maintain high-performance environments for trading decision-making, systematic investment strategies, and automated hedging risk logic (focusing on investment decision systems rather than low-level execution engines).
• Onboard new regional markets by implementing regional rules, market requirements, and exchange connectivity into the global codebase while ensuring seamless cross-region code sharing and integration workflows.
• Partner closely with front-office traders, quantitative strategists, and market data teams to translate business requirements into tech solutions, offering continuous opportunities to expand your financial domain knowledge.
• Utilize time-series databases (KDB+/q) for algorithmic data storage, market data capture, and quantitative data analysis.
• Write robust integration tests using Python and Shell scripting, while providing direct Tier 2/3 technical support to trading desk end-users during Asia-Pacific market hours.

Education & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
• Min 5 years of hands-on software development experience within Electronic Trading / e-Trading environments.
• Strong technical proficiency in Core Java (preferably Java 17), Linux/Unix server environments, and scripting languages (Python, Shell) for automated testing.
• Solid experience with FIX Protocol, Order Management Systems (OMS), and electronic trading workflows (Options Trading or Delta One domain knowledge preferred; past OMS experience is an advantage).
• Exposure to low-latency e-Trading systems, principal execution algos, or execution workflow integration.
• Knowledge of KDB+/q data storage or quantitative data analysis is a strong plus.
• Strong communication skills with good stakeholders management.
