About the role We are seeking a Senior Software Developer to join our growing technology team in Kuala Lumpur on a full-time basis. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in designing, developing and maintaining our core software systems that power our online ticketing platform. As a senior member of the development team, you will provide technical leadership, mentor junior developers and contribute to the strategic direction of our technology initiatives. This position is central to ensuring the scalability, reliability and performance of our systems as we continue to expand our market presence.
Key responsibilities
Design, develop and maintain high-quality software solutions using modern programming languages and frameworks
Lead the development of new features and enhancements to the online ticketing platform, ensuring adherence to best practices and coding standards
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers, UX designers and business analysts to understand requirements and deliver effective solutions
Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior developers, conducting code reviews and fostering a culture of continuous learning
Troubleshoot, debug and resolve software defects and performance issues in a timely manner
Participate in system architecture discussions and contribute to technical decision-making processes
Optimise application performance and scalability to handle growing user volumes and transaction loads
Ensure compliance with security best practices and data protection requirements
Contribute to the documentation of system design, architecture and technical specifications
Provide on-call support during non-business hours for critical emergencies or urgent issues
What we're looking for
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a related discipline
Minimum 4-5 years of professional software development experience with demonstrated expertise in designing and developing scalable applications
Solid understanding of software architecture, design patterns and object-oriented programming principles
Experience with relational and non-relational databases (SQL and NoSQL)
Familiarity with version control systems (TFVC and Git) and agile development methodologies
Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or Google Cloud) and containerisation technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically about complex technical challenges
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment
Proven experience mentoring junior developers or leading technical projects is highly desirable
Practical, hands‑on experience using AI coding assistants (GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor, or similar) — able to speak to how you use them effectively (prompting, reviewing/validating output, knowing when not to trust them)
Knowledge of web hosting, networking, and security practices is a plus
Experience in the travel, transportation or fintech industries is a valued advantage
