Salary: $133,348 - $146,945 plus super and leave loading

About the role:
As a Senior Software Developer, you will play a key role in building and evolving the technology that connects systems, data and digital services.
The role focuses on developing and supporting enterprise integrations, Web APIs, background services and web applications, enabling secure, reliable information exchange and streamlined business processes. You will also contribute to websites and digital solutions that support the Parliamentary business systems, operations and public-facing services.
Working across technical and project teams, the role delivers modern, cloud-based solutions aligned with our architecture, security and development standards, while contributing to our ongoing digital transformation and technology roadmap.

Based in NSW Parliament, the Department of Parliamentary Services (DPS) is a specialist service department working to support the operation of the Parliament of NSW by providing logistical support and advice to members, the Departments of the Legislative Council and Legislative Assembly and the people of New South Wales. Our office is found close to public transport in the heart of Macquarie Street CBD, next to the State Library and Sydney’s Botanic Gardens.

About you:
You are a Senior Software Developer who enjoys turning complex problems into simple, secure and reliable solutions, with strong hands-on experience across C#, .NET, ASP.NET Core, Web APIs, background services, system integrations and modern web applications. You will have a strong foundation in software architecture, clean code, API design, relational databases and cloud platforms such as Azure, with a focus on building well-tested, scalable solutions that perform well in production. Experience with modern frontend technologies such as React will be highly regarded.
A curious, analytical and collaborative approach is key, together with the ability to translate technical requirements into quality solutions, troubleshoot complex issues and work effectively across technical and delivery teams. Clear communication, ownership and sound engineering judgement are valued, including when using approved AI-assisted development tools. A relevant IT/Computer Science qualification or equivalent professional experience is expected.
