Salary
£68,000 - 108,000 per year
Requirements
- Strong commercial experience developing applications using Python
- Hands-on experience building and consuming REST APIs
- Experience using REST Assured for API testing and automation
- Commercial experience working with AWS
- Strong understanding of DevOps practices and modern software delivery
- Experience working with CI/CD pipelines
- Experience developing scalable, secure enterprise applications
- Strong understanding of software engineering best practices, testing, and code quality
- Experience mentoring developers and supporting technical delivery
- Experience working within Agile delivery environments
- Experience with Azure cloud technologies
- Knowledge of microservices and event-driven architectures
- Experience working within UK public sector environments
- Exposure to AI or Machine Learning technologies
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable Python-based applications and services
- Build secure RESTful APIs and integration solutions supporting enterprise platforms
- Develop cloud-native applications using AWS and modern engineering practices
- Work closely with DevOps engineers to deliver automated, reliable deployments
- Ensure high standards of software quality through testing, code reviews, and engineering best practice
- Design and implement microservices and event-driven solutions
- Support production systems, improving performance, resilience, and reliability
- Mentor developers and provide technical leadership across engineering teams
- Contribute to Agile planning, technical design, and solution delivery
- Produce high-quality technical documentation and support continuous improvement initiatives
