Summary
Senior Software Developer at Our Telekom in Honiara building and maintaining M-SELEN (mobile money) applications, APIs, databases, integrations, reports and operational tools. Day-to-day spans full-cycle development, SIT/UAT testing, production support, monitoring, incident investigation and documentation using tools like Git, Docker, Nginx, PM2 and CI/CD.
- Develop and maintain reliable systems, reports and automation that reduce operational cost, manual effort and service inefficiencies.
- Prepare accurate transaction, reconciliation and operational data for management and relevant business teams.
- Deliver assigned technical solutions within agreed scope, timelines and available resources, escalating material cost or resource impacts
- Contribute to stable, secure and user-friendly customer, agent, merchant, partner and internal digital channels.
- Independently investigate assigned application, API and transaction-related issues, providing clear findings, progress updates and timely escalation.
- Provide technical guidance, system support and training to internal users, partners and other stakeholders as required.
- Develop, test, deploy and maintain web applications, APIs, databases, reports, integrations and operational tools in line with agreed priorities.
- Execute development, SIT, UAT, defect-resolution and release-readiness activities with limited supervision.
- Monitor systems, analyze logs and prepare technical findings, options and recommendations for review and decision-making.
- Take ownership of assigned actions during incidents, changes, projects and continuous-improvement initiatives through to completion.
- Work collaboratively with the Process & Technology Manager and wider Technology Department through shared planning, regular updates and joint problem-solving.
- Manage delegated responsibilities independently while seeking direction on priorities, policy, major risks and decisions outside the role's authority.
- Coordinate effectively with Operations, Commercial, Finance, vendors, partners and other stakeholders to deliver agreed outcomes.
- Share technical knowledge and maintain user guides, procedures, handover notes and training materials to strengthen team capability and continuity.
Requirements
- A degree or diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, IT, or a related fields.
- 2–4 years of practical software development experience, including hands-on involvement in application development, production support, API integration, databases, testing, and troubleshooting.
- The candidate should be comfortable supporting business-critical systems across application, server, database, integration, and network layers. Experience in fintech, banking, telecommunications, payments, or mobile applications is highly desirable, along with working knowledge of tools and technologies such as Git, Nginx, PM2, Docker, CI/CD, Postman, monitoring, and test automation. Relevant professional certifications and equivalent practical experience may also be considered.
