About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Developer to support the Government Services Integration Cluster. The successful candidate will be responsible for translating technical system specifications into scalable, secure, high-performing, and tested applications within a large-scale enterprise environment.
This role requires a strong hands-on background in Java development, Oracle/SQL databases, REST APIs, RESTful Web Services, microservices architecture, security protocols, and enterprise application development.
The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience designing and developing large-scale multi-client web applications and will work collaboratively with functional, technical, and project teams throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
Key Responsibilities
- Translate technical system specifications into working, tested, and maintainable software applications.
- Develop detailed programming and technical specifications.
- Design, develop, test, debug, document, and maintain enterprise applications.
- Write and generate high-quality, data-driven application code.
- Conduct unit testing and support application integration and deployment activities.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues arising during software development, implementation, migration, conversion, and production operations.
- Collaborate with IT professionals and stakeholders throughout the Software Development Life Cycle.
- Apply structured methodologies for application design, development, implementation, and maintenance.
- Develop scalable Internet-ready applications using modern development practices.
- Design and implement REST APIs and RESTful Web Services.
- Apply microservices architecture principles to improve application extensibility, scalability, and maintainability.
- Implement secure application integration using security gateways and protocols.
- Participate in Agile development activities and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams.
- Apply object-oriented programming principles, design patterns, refactoring, and clean code practices.
- Work with relational and hierarchical database technologies and query languages.
- Participate in design walkthroughs and technical discussions with project teams.
- Elicit and document technical and business requirements from stakeholders and subject matter experts.

- 10+ years of hands-on Java development experience with Oracle and/or SQL databases.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience developing REST APIs and RESTful Web Services.
