Senior Software Developer

Salary: £27,000 - 67,000 per year

Requirements:

• Strong commercial background in C#/.NET development (Framework and/or Core), delivering robust and reliable API services in an Azure cloud environment.
• Proven track record of driving sustainable performance against challenging business targets in two or more technical disciplines, including API development using Microsoft .NET 8 (C#, ASP.NET, MVC, WCF, etc.) and MS SQL/database design, including writing SQL scripts.
• Excellent understanding of Service-Oriented Architecture design and integration.
• Excellent knowledge of documentation, testing, and release management principles, with the ability to prioritise and execute tasks in a dynamic, changing environment.
• Highly motivated and self-reliant, with a drive for continuous development, proven analytical and problem-solving abilities, and excellent interpersonal skills.
• Extensive knowledge of the system development lifecycle, including DevOps processes, CI/CD, and writing unit tests.
• Successful candidates must undergo pre-employment checks, including a Basic Disclosure Check. Depending on the role, Counter Terrorist Check or Security Check clearance may also be required. Roles are subject to a medical questionnaire and further medicals when required.

Responsibilities:

• Input into the design and lead the development of global APIs and associated integrations, while maintaining and supporting the IT programme of work.
• Contribute to software development standards and governance, ensuring that your deliverables and those of the wider team adhere to them.
• Contribute to technical procurement and adoption standards for commercial services and systems.
• Identify technical tasks from user stories during refinement and create high-quality, detailed, lower-level technical designs.
• Deliver robust, reliable, and secure software services that are fit for purpose and meet specified acceptance criteria.
• Keep abreast of changes in your software domain and identify ways to use existing and new technologies to reduce costs, manage risk, and build resilience.
• Undertake specialist, detailed, and complex troubleshooting within your technical discipline.

This is a permanent, 37-hour-per-week role, Monday to Friday, with hybrid working of one to two office days per week. The role will be based at Leeds Valley Park from summer 2026.
